Government of Pakistan Cultural Exchange Program IPC
Tomorrow is the test for CULTURAL EXCHANGE Program (IPC DIVISION). If anyone has applied for the test, please respond. I've few queries
1. Test pattern (especially for Engineering) 2. How many scholarships are available for all programs. There are ~8520 candidates, who are taking this particular test. |

Number of seats for China government Scholarship
Last year 117 students were awarded this scholarship across all disciplines and level. Roughly 50 percent were for the field of science and engineering and the rest for other disciplines.
The year before that 107 students were awarded this scholarship, roughly 50 percent were in physical sciences and engineering and the rest in all other fields. To check for yourself visit the website of inter provincial coordination(IPC). |

This scholarship is only for those who want to study in China?
|
This scholarship is only for those who want to study in China?
Also for those who want to study in planet mars. :D |
This scholarship is only for those who want to study in China?
90-95% from China. Rest from Turkey, Italy and some other countries. Only toppers of test will be offered this opportunity and discipline does not matter here just test marks. 70 and above have vital chance. 75 above almost confirmed. |
Thanks.

I have got 63 in Social Sciences from Punjab. Is there any chance?
|
What was last year's cutt off? I scored 69
|
How much score is required for engineering with punjab domicile? I scored 75, I think it should get me in the merit list.
Sent from my ALE-L21 using Tapatalk |
Last year Punjabs closing merit was 71 for principal candidates, 69 for alternate candidates.
It is a combined merit list for all the disciplines so engineering doesn't have a separate merit |
For Last Year

Salam,
Can you please cite the source from where you gathered this data? and if you can, please answer the following questions: 1. Would it count against me if I applied for the social sciences category despite having an engineering degree? When universities are short listing candidates that is. 2. If not, what is the expected cut off for Sindh Urban for social sciences or in general because the paper this year was, we think, not that difficult. |
No chance for me
I got 67 engineering, from punjab. Seems :(
Best of luck everyone |

Also you can ask those questions directly from IPC. 0519204225 But they wont have the info about the merit yet. NTS is going to declare the result next week and then they will give a date for applications of rechecking. After compiling the final result they will send them to IPC. Only yhen they will be able to tell you about the merit of Sindh. |

You have the highest marks.

Something fishy in the answer key of Pink booklet for engineers
Hi,
The English part was pretty easy, and I was expecting max 2 or 3 mistakes in the english questions, out of 20. However, I got all correct from 1 to 14, and then 14 to 20 were all incorrect according to the answer key. I think its probable that the answer key was not precisely correct, as it is highly unlikely that I got 6 english mcqs wrong in a row. Is there someone else with pink booklet in engineering who either got mcqs 15 to 20 correct or wrong? I want to know whether I actually answered them wrong or the key was wrong. P.S I scored well, 75/100 and got 12 merit number, its just that I want to know whether I actually attempted 6 easy peasy mcqs wrong in a row, or not. |
So if, as always, they are going to make a combined merit list, most of the seats will again go to the social sciences. Which is very unfair given that all the tests were different. Social sciences was obviously an easy test that's why the overall scores are high. I have fourth position in Management Science with 72 marks and the highest is 76. So clearly its not a matter if incompetence but this system of a combined merit list is wrong.

Did they give a segregated merit list last year(Like its this year) or was it combined? |
Did they give a segregated merit list last year(Like its this year) or was it combined?
No merit list was uploaded last year, only the final shortlisted list was uploaded. Also, it doesn't matter if NTS posts a segregated or combined merit list because NTS is not the one giving the scholarship, they are only taking the test. they are going to send the result to IPC and then IPC is going to make the merit list according to them, which is usually combined. |

If they follow a combined merit list 85 percent scholarships would go to social sciences, that would be very absurd. Sent from my ALE-L21 using Tapatalk |

Sent from my ALE-L21 using Tapatalk
I scored 80 in social science and in no way ready to accept that a topper of management sciences is preferred over me. That would be unfair to my efforts. There is no objective way to say that MS topper of 76 is more competitive than 80 of SS who is 12th in his province. Last time, 75 seats were taken by computer subject students, and some provinces had only students from computer background. And how will IPC accommodate 8 subjects in provinces that have 5 seats? Also, suppose, if one province has 9 seats, this means 1 seat each for 7 subject and 2 seats for the 8th subject. Now which subject will get to have 2 seats and on what basis? You can either have quota on the basis of province or on the basis of subject. It cant be both. And provincial quota is mostly applied as the ministry deals with inter provincial coordination. |
Any updates on the china government scholarship?

No one is going to snatch your seat as they know you will murder them in their sleep. :D Goodluck for your selection. :) |
I just checked, there were almost 117 people who qualified for the field of computers last year, containing both alternate and principle candidates. So they might not segregate by field after all.

I got an email from ipc, anyone else recieved it?
