Some Questions:

1. Does this scholarship has any kind of bond? I mean, after getting the scholarship, does a person has to sign any kind of bond with the Govt?

2. Can a student, who has done masters in social sciences, be eligible to apply for Languages (English literature specifically)? Or is he only eligible to apply for social sciences?

3. Is this scholarship announced once every year?

yes, there is a bond that you have to execute with the Ministry of Education guaranteeing that you'd serve the country for 5 years upon return to Pakistan, soon after your studies end. However, since the British Government is funding the scheme, Pakistan Government is not too keen to enforce the bond. But UK govt usually disallows students from staying back in UK once they have finished their studies.

yes, as long as you have 16 years of education, you can apply for it in any field that you choose. As a first step the ministry would nominate 30~40 odd people based on the results of the NTS. Quotas would apply uptil this point. Thereafter your documents, which will include your academics qualifications plus 2 essays that you will be required to write, would be sent to the Commonwealth Commission in UK. At this point you will have to justify the choice of your subject and its benefits to your home country. If you that well, Commission has no issues in allocating you the subject of your choice.

Yes, this scholarship is announced only once a year.

Once a student qualifies the NTS, IELTS will be required for him to be considered for admission or not?????

Once you have cleared the NTS, and nominated by the Ministry of Education on the basis of merit and provincial quota, they will ask you to submit the following, within one month:
1. Completed application form, given by the Commonwealth Commission.
2. Study Plan (300 words)
3. An essay on benefit of your studies to your home country (500 words).
4. IELTS Score sheet.
5. Academic Qualification Certificates.
6. 3x Reference Letters of Recommendation from your academic supervisors.
