I have confusion about this program.
Does it will be going to offer for fall 2013 ?

I think they will not offer it for the coming fall, because there are much more steps in the selection process after shortlisting and from shortlisting up to joining the host university takes six months minimum.

suggestion to everyone who has applied and has chance of being selected, appear in IELTS and GRE asap to be on the safe side. Because i have seen a lot of people missing opportunities for admission in good universities because they dont fulfill the requirement. yes many people will say that the unversities exempt HEC scholars from these requirements but nobody is providing any official response or document in favour of this. so try appearing in these exams it is my opinion.

Agreed. We, the Batch IV, are victims of it. No exemption at all at the foreign universities for HEC scholars, its just an illusion. Appear in IELTS and GRE for better chances to secure admission.

Dear what is the issue with Batch IV program. i heard someone say that they are still waiting , why what is the reason because it was probably announced back in 2012 if i am not wrong.
Secondly what would you recommend if one has choice between UESTP faculty development scholarship and 90% scholarship.

This UESTP batch is for fall 2013 ?
Student can join in spring 2014 ?

I think Dear these both scholarships are same in terms stipend.
The main difference is "Placement" after the completion of the program.
Because in UESTP program the returned scholar will be placed in UET's of Pakistan.
But about 90% its not sure (in fact i have no knowledge).
Are you shortlisted in 90% scholarship ?
Because the result of the 90% is still not announced.

Aoa All,

I want to ask some questions regrading this scholarship program.Might be you have discussed this thing before.But I want to ask some questions here which are as below.

1. Does HEC going to announce merit list by the end of July or they will again extend this date ?
2. What is the selection criteria for this scholarship ?
3. What is the merit calculation formula used to award scholarship ?

1. still do not know will they extend the date or not.
2. Shortlisting is based on GAT score. Other things like academics and research experiences and Quality of research proposal though have some weight-age but these things will be considered by the country and University for which people are shortlisted.
3. No merit calculation formula is defined. Every country/University has their own way which are not revealed to applicants.

Do you think this the right way to award scholarship ?
In fact during the award of scholarship they are not considering the 16 years/18 years of education.I think this is not fair.
In fact they are awarding scholarship on the basis "2hour" test (GAT only) and they are completely ignoring the whole academic background of a student.I think its not fair criteria to award scholarship.
They must have to consider the 16/18 years of education also.
I think this is really bad.They can give some fair weight-age to the GAT but they should have to consider the educational background.
in fact they should follow this criteria.
