The GRE is a computer based adaptive test which means it adapts according to the performance of the test taker...it is conducted 4 days a week through out the year so theoretically you can sit the exam any time you want.

Can you please eleborate what do you mean by adaptive test?
Does it mean it would be different for all candidates? Please explain your point.

So the analytical writing must be done on computer or it can be written on paper as well ??

Yes the test will be different for everyone...ETS (the test makers of the GRE) maintain a database of thousands of questions that is updated frequently...so for example you take a test today and your friend also takes the GRE the same day as you do...it is very unlikely that both of you will get overlapping set of questions....

By adaptive i mean that the test will adapt to your performance....so if you are well prepared and you do most of your questions in one particular section well, then you would get a difficult second section and vice versa....difficult questions weigh more than easier ones so getting a hard questions right will fetch you more points...

nope...analytical writing must be done on computer as well...30 minutes per essay so you got to improve your typing speed in case it is slow
