Salam to All,

I am from KPK Peshawar and have been provisionally selected for indigenous scholarship, my field is Social Sciences (Mphil Leading to PhD Economics) from peshawar university and now need help in documentations.

i would like to know if anyone else is in this forum who is having mphil from pesh univ in economics and is selected for indigenous??? plz let me know via text or reply to this post so that we can get in touch.

Dear All those are selected in Indigenous scholarships or specialy jo khty hain k ye wastage of time hai ya job nhi milgi...I think aap ko andaza hai k PhD k degree ki importance kitni hai all our the world..Or jo srf job k le kr rhy hain mmujhy confirm hai k unahin PhD k worth ka nhi pta...please aap phely ksi achy scholar sy poch lo k PhD ki kia importance hai..Than go for next step.

You are right, phD has got worth and prestige. But when there is already a shortage of jobs then no need to restrict one self after doing phd. A simple MS will have more options, one can obtain a fully funded overseas scholarship from external agencies. It adds more spice and experience to one's career. Those who have well-off and have no family pressure, Indigenous is best option for them Stay in Pakistan and do PhD. What type of restriction it is that the scholar shall not pursue any job. It means that HEC and policy makers are convinced that 15 to 18 thousand per month is enough for sustaining oneself for 5 long years.

If your supervisor is good then you can do job along with your research. Or you can also join any tuition academy. You can confirm it from Phd scholars of your university department. This restriction is only valid or 4 years. After 4 years if your Phd is not completed then you can do job along with your research. HEC will not put any restriction after 4 years.
