I have decided to boycott PMS because of this stupid screening test.. why don't these rats give chance to everyone who have payed them. This mcq shyt will decide our fate.At least give a chance to them.I am not going to solve questions like Allama Iqbal ki phopo ka nam kinda questions.Done with PMS.. return us our hard earned cash which you looted from us.
Or you would have charged 100rs fee for this screening crap.Looted our money. Chor chakaray

It is a fair practice owing to large number of aspirants. I would urge you to appear in the screening test. Rest, it is your choice. Best of luck.

With all due respect Aquila, it is not a fair practice. Being an athlete I can run 5 kilometers in one hour. But neither I nor anybody else can run 5 kilometers in 0.246 minutes. This means that 0.246 minutes is not the standard time to check human potential. Similarly the standard time for checking the potential of PMS applicants is 36 Hours (excluding interview time) and not 1.5 hours (1.5/36*100=4.2%). The assessment time has been reduced to 4.2% of the standard time for assessment. This alternatively means that the standards of KPPSC have fallen to 4.2% of the last time event. This also implies that potential, competency; capacity and achievement orientation of the KPPSC staff has fallen drastically to 4.2% of the standard. Now with these statistics do they deserve to be the rightful incumbents of their seats?
Secondly, you cannot just download crap from any corner of the internet and call it a screening test. if this is so bring me the Chairman of the commission and let me prepare a test for him from the internet in his own field and see if he can score more than what the probability allows.
The crux of the matter is that potential and not the luck or probability (she loves me...she loves me not approach) should be the criterion and the institution entrusted with the sacred responsibility of ensuring this, is KPPSC.

You have raised very valid points. Yet the practice was fair, what can be done If the applicants cross 20,000. This is in practise all over the world, specially in India, where the number of applicants is soaring each year.

As far as this test was concerned it was like attempting all compulsory subjects in 90 minutes. I don't see much difference in the spirit of exam, which was indeed fulfilled
by sticking to the syllabus. As long as it is within the ambit of syllabus; it doesn't matter where they pick questions from.

Not only I appreciate but salute the examiner who prepared this test. He made it in sincerity and keeping in view the candidates who cover all of the syllabus. I guess those would be specifically delighted now, who were skeptics of inclusion of questions like "Iqbal ki Phuppo" and "Jinnah ki Pehli biwi".

Another important thing the commission discouraged this time was different academies spread everywhere, promising success, giving notes and taking tests. Such type of paper was necessary to stop these thugs, making money out of innocent aspirants who are finding short cut.

In the end I'd say; I found the test extremely difficult. And in my opinion those who crosses 50 marks would be called for the written portion. Good luck to all aspirants.

Indeed it was tough and the kppsc should make sure to stop cheating in exam halls and make it fair as some people were using cell phones, even they during test duration uploaded the test on fb. Took pics of the question sheets and uploaded directly....

Dear THISWORLDSUCKSMAN brother! Sorry, it's the name. With all due deference, I beg to differ. All your statistics may hold water only if we won't complain about the sluggish process of recruitment in KPPSC. It might not be the ideal way of assessing an aspirant but it's the best available approach. With limited resources (and by resources I don't mean the money you pay to the commission) they can only hold a screening test to reduce the number of candidates. This is a policy matter. Simply put, that's how the cookie crumbles. I don't know what is my fate but for the sake of argument, we should be up for the task.

Decision making is a complex process, especially in bureaucratic circles. Those who make the decision to employ a certain procedure for recruitment usually go down to the very basics.

Moreover, there are pros and cons of every tool/system. Name one, and any Tom,dick and Harry will list down its disadvantages.

These are objective type papers with least chances of errors in marking. On the contrary, if 12papers are checked for 16000 candidates...... Do the math for arranging, coordinating, checking, and interviewing the potential civil servants without affecting the quality. And do not forget the time factor, human resource required and financial costs.

I hope you will realise it now.

Can anyone please suggest how to get going? How to get a jump start? Actually after day's long work at the office, I am too exhausted to study with full on concentration and continuously for even an hour. Plus when I take a break I waste all the remaining time. I think I am a little frustrated over the state of affairs and have lost my confidence. is there anyone in the same boat?
I am out of options and plans of action. I need some top quality advice.
