KPK PMS ability test

Hello dear aspirants, I hope you all are doing great. I wanted to start a thread where we all could discuss the disaster that this screening test was. I was one of the unfortunate candidates whose test was in the morning batch. I believe the 2nd batch had an unfair advantage because their test was at 2.30pm and the mcqs of morning test had started circulating on the web as soon as the morning test was concluded. We went with not even a vague idea on what was to be asked in the test, while they not only had a clear idea but also 3 hrs to rot learn some 15 mcqs. (I was disappointed to see that no single mcq was asked from pak affairs, islamiat and only 2 from EDS and I'm pretty sure most of the
morning candidates, like me, had tirelessly crammed these). The general knowledge portion, that is 50 mcqs, asked questions from the same categories as morning test. May be it was done so no one could complain about the difference in difficulty level of the respective test papers, but it can prove catastrophic in circumstances where each mark counts and while only 25 candidates are being called for a single post. Your thoughts?

The test was easy but contradictory to the traditional screening test format. Most of the people I know have wasted ample time on the preparation of indo-pak history, Islamiat, and such.
indeed, those who attempted the 2nd time test have an apparent advantage over those of 1st time.
keeping in view the 25 persons per seat rule, my guess is only those who will secure 70+will have a chance to proceed to the next stage(written).

This was the most pathetic ability test for a PMS officer I have ever seen from any public service commission. Not only did they change the pattern of the screening test (no Islamiat and Indo-Pak history), the issues in conducting 2 different tests for same post AND at different times are apparent to even most inept person. They had ample time to figure out a proper way to conduct the examination but instead they came up with this lottery-like test. The English portion was what a candidate would expect but the mcqs related to currency and capitals make no sense whatsoever. When is a random fact that Kigali is capital of Rwanda going to help anyone in their public service career? Majority of general science mcqs were just random facts copied straight from Caravan or JWT books (in case of currency related mcqs, even the options were exactly the same as in Caravan books). Overall don't expect much from highlighting the disaster that this screening test was. KPPSC is one of the worst when it comes to proper recruitment. The fact that it took them 4 years to conduct PMS speaks for itself. I really wish I had not wasted all that time studying Islamic and Indo-Pak dates and facts but every person was telling me to study them. This screening test is a perfect example of why 1 paper mcqs for such big posts are a luck fest and a complete injustice to candidates.

Those had test in evening were lucky ones. They will have 10 to 15 marks extra due to similarity between morning and evening test therefore they will occupy more than 80 percent seats after shortlisting.

People may agree to disagree but in reality whoever set the paper had done indirect support to aspirants ( intentionally or unintentionally) by giving similar mcqs in evening as it came in morning.

So i expect majority after shortlisting would be from evening session.

Kppsc is incompetent institute; Fpsc has taken many such exams with many sessions but they never gave clue about questions to come in comming session.

Secondly, no such notice of 25 seats has been updated on kppsc website though it is approved but not announced publicily in website therefore whom to blame for such negligence ?

Lastly, screening purpose is not shortlisting as kppsc is doing; screening is aimed to minimized the bucket of aspirants therefore to maintain balance it is necessary to set bechmark like 50 marks above would be allowed to sit in written exam - irrespective of number of condidates. In this way Comission should focus on those condidates who cross the threshold as set by kppsc like 50 or 60 %. Kppsc may set this bar himself as she deem appropriate (like 60 % etc) but limiting to 25 condidate per seat is sheer injustice.

Hey Yasir. Heard about 25 candidates to be called per seat after screening results to which a demonstration was held. Is that policy still intact? Any details you got

yasirisrar Sunday, July 11, 2021 10:01 AM

Yes result will be announced as per the policy of 25/1. Kppsc replied to this query via the PM portal.
Furthermore, if the decision of High court is in favor of aspirants then kppsc will reverse its decision of 25/1 and possibly lower the screening score.

Note: amended kppsc regulation is available on kppsc website with all the new amendments

Only high court can some what compensate the aspirants. However, in case of tehsildar, a precedent has been already set by PHC and there is a chance the judge will make his decision based on previous verdict
