@khan
well its right that the posts mentioned by me are of higher grades than 17, yet what i want to say is that a person'll be required to work in finance deptt, secratriat and local govt depending on where he's needed.having gone through the pamphlet about pms, i came to know that pms officers are given a comprehensive training stretching to all fields like local govt, finance, fata relating etc.so now if a person is given training in all these then he'll be posted to such slots.

dear ashfaq

i have gone through the PMS training and employment structure as well. it is very encouraging, but how viable it is, i dont know. PMS officer will be section officers, TMO, DDO (finance, revenue, judicial), etc...so it is said to be the DMG group of NWFP.....as u have been allocated in OMG ....r u giving a thought to considering this.

Default still uncleared

sallam brother,

well reasoable out put form all but things r not yet cleared...........much is being said about the training fields and structure....to add to their knowledge,i must let u know that the prescribed training programme for PMS is the same as it is for DMG........they also work in finance,fata affiars,managemet etc............so what i can extract is PMS can be posted any where in the province where a DMG could be .......and as the future of local bodies is in limbo,the DDO posts may not be there for taking till the finally trained PMS officers will be out in the field.........no body tell me how to prepare for the interview....

@ well wisher
infact i'm going to take on the pms interview just for fun and not with the intention of joining otherwise.css is css and it is superior to any job in pakistan.moreover' in OMG there are ample chances of intellectual growth.also' one'll retire as federal secretary.i think its more than enough.and ofcourse the most shinning feature indeed is periodical and rapid promotions which r lacking in pms.

@ashfaq

dear brother congrats on getting in to OMG 1st........indeed a merveous job and u deserve to be praised till the very end........few things which i know ,would like to share and would also like to be corrected if wrong regarding your perception and my understanding of PMS........the promotion standard of PMS has also been changed and as mentioned earlier every thing which is being follwed for DMG is supposed to be followed for PMS......that is,just as a DMG officer,A PMS officer will also reach 18 grae in 5 years and after 18 years of service,both will be secretaries.......so the promtion set back wihich was earlier being witnessed by a PCS officers has been corrected........besides they will be posted in the fields,and thats what thrilling about it ........which is some thing missing in OMG.....apart from this not all the OMG officers will be posted in the center......they must also be working in the provinces.....and eventually they will be same as the PMS officers...........brother,dont take me wrong,thats how i am seeing things,so wanted to share,and u can corect me then i will be honoured........last but not the least,as u have witnessed youself,the exam patern,number of subjects,level of exam later on training which also includes UT ship just as that for DMG,s clearly shows that PMS will take u where DMG is taking her officers ..........well thats my perception.........and i may be wrong.

@ khan
dear khan i highly honour your perceptions and approve of each of your statement about pms.its true that pms officers are trained in all disciplines as are for dmg.moreover the tortous promotion process has also been reformed in pms.but let me aware you of some ground realities also.in 2006 i think a group of almost 78(rankers) officers were promoted to grade 17 they'll get their promotion prior to pms officers as one of my friends pointed out.if we see in nwfp there'll be fewer grade 19+ posts and i believe if all the 78+178(current batch) were combined there'd be few who'll get d.c.o or commissioner rank posts.
as regard to omg officers' postings in the provincial secretariat, they are always posted on one grade promotion.mean if an officer is in 17 he is posted as deputy secretary in province.one of the additional chief secretary of nwfp was an omg.so i think if we are posted in the province it'll add to our fortune.
but still i don't know much about pms so i can't take things for granted.pms indeed offers powerful posts and pave way for illustrious future.
sorry for if i've committed any mistake or 've stated wrongly.

very true dude css is after all css.
also the pcs 2006 batch of SO'S hav been promoted as pms officers so they will also be senior to these 178 guys however lemme touch another issue
the reforms that r takin place in FATA it is just a matter of time when FATA will be a part of NWFP so these pms guys will hav bright prospects coz more administrative posts will be created.
peace

Assalam O Alekum Grano Malgaro!
I have just been told by a friend that the Commission has started dispatching letters to PMS qualifiers to appear in the interview. Plus, he also told me that the interviews of Zone-1 will begin on the 28th of September. Has anyone received the letter? I have n't received any.
Wassalam...
