Passing marks in Compulsory Subjects
One of my friend took PMS Exam and he secured 659 marks.
He got 36 marks in Current Affairs(131/300 in GK(Current Affairs,Everyday Science,Pakistan Affairs)) I was wondering do you need individually 40 marks in all the compulsory/GK subjects or if you get more than 40% i.e. 120+(out of 300) in the three GK subjects you pass it? I believe in CSS you have to obtain individually 40plus in every compulsory subject and 33+ in optional along with 50% plus on aggregate. Kindly help if someone know the rules |

PCS copied the pattern of css but faild everywhere due to mismanagement on the part of those who dnt know the exact rules. this is not the only case u mentioned i came through so many cases like this even some candidtaes passed in all subjects but failed in pol science paper 1st by 2 number but more than 80 combinely but PCS failed them. so this the case and most people suffered......even one dnt have the right to appeal in such cases.

actually in pms every one is reqiured to secure 40 marks individually in each compulsory to get through and 33 in each optional irrespective of whether the combine score of his/her crosses 120( pak ,current affairs and EDS) or 66(in case of 200 score optional papers).so all who couldn't make to reach the limits in each paper is failed.

@ mahakhan
well css is indeed an uncertain game.sometimes u score least in papers you attempt well while at other times you hit the highest in papers you are reluctant about..also you can't predict about your score.in css miracles happen so pray that in your case too they do, and you get through. |

@Ashfaq:
It means that the css marking criteria is ambiguous or uncertain. is it really so? If it is, then no one with a good attempt of all of his papers can predict success for him... Its really breathtaking isn't it?

@ mahakhan
you r welcome i'm always here to help you ppl.well this is a fact and i assure you that if you've attempted your english papers satisfactorily, you'll surely get through.for overcoming aggregate hurdle ,it depends on your subjects selection.if your optional escape the blow of strict marking then you'll be lucky and may score outstandingly.so again pray fervently @ naeemsandhu dear in css you've to fear only english papers.i think you should be primarily worried about them and if you attempt them well you can expect much then.rest, i've explained in the preceding para. |
