Default PMS vs DMG in KPK province

Keeping in view the ongoing conflict between DMG and PMS in Punjab province, senior members of the forum are hereby requested to clarify the privileges/authorities of both the services i.e. DMG & PMS in our province(KPK). Is the situation similar in KPK or there is no tussle between both cadres here. Please elaborate comprehensively by comparing different aspects (promotion, allocation, deputation, competence etc.)

Although there were some reports of a tussle between PCS/PMS and DMG officers in FATA secretariat over some appointments some time ago, but the overall situation is quite better than that of other provinces. Here in KPK most of the commissioners are from PCS group, likewise many senior positions including Additional Chief secretary FATA are occupied by PCS officers. Now that there are more than 400 PMS officers in KPK, their association will be stronger than before. For effective administration, mutual respect and cooperation is necessary and I hope it prevails.
Cheers

sir why don't they call provincial officers as DMG's? This will better address grievances of provincial officers if any

DMG has now been renamed as PAS and is federal service. It is one of the twelve services/groups of CSS(Central Superior Services). Whereas, PMS is provincial service of KPK. Its old names were PCS(Executive) & PCS(Secretariat). That is why PMS officers can not be called DMG/PAS officers. However, the functions/powers of both the services are almost same.

I assure you one thing. The condition of PMS officers of KPK is way better than that of other provinces... PMS officers in KPK are getting posted as Commissioners, SMBR, ACS and home secretary. Most of the Political Agents are from PCS/PMS and same goes for Assitant political Agents...
In punjab, out of a total of Nine divisions, only one commissioner is from PCS/PMS. Coveted positions like that of Home secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and SMBR are always occupied by officers of pakistan Administrative Service.. So feel lucky and have Fun
