Default CSS vs PMS
Ok I know the fact that a CSP officer enjoys more authority that a PMS officer yet are there any conditions where PMS gets an edge over CSS.

You know,now a days, pms has equalized css specialy in kpk.Only three groups of css, psp,fsp and dmg are considered better than pms.while Pms is considred superior over all group of Css.They could be considred as provincial DMG officers,as they are being posted on all important posts in secretariat, as well in fields just like DMG'S.
The weak point of PMS is just slow promotion.

Yes Respected lady why not, if one get allocation in Fata as APA or PA (even for a few months), then much better than CSPs other categories jobs (only PMS and DMG officers can be allocated as APA/PA).

e.g PMS officer "Javed Marwat" history,
DCO Malakand then PA South Waziristan and now DCO Peshawar.
what else do you want... :P
One just need to be sharp and flexible(don't ask what do I mean by this).

Correct, Provincial autonomy has also enhances the prestige of PMS officers...

Alright!! and what about the salary structure??
and which one would you rank on the top PMS or AD IB or NAB??

Plus is there any other way of becoming an ambassador if a person doesn't get selected in Foreign Service:P
and last but not the least do PMS officers get to work on deputation in other countries and CSPs do

I know these are too many questions but my previous experiences on the forum assure me that you people won't get irritated by them

The salary structure is same for all BPS 17 inductees.
And you mentioned well that pms officer can not be posted abroad; it does not mean pms is not a good group,officers of CTG,IG are posted abroad, but generally aspirants do not prefer these group over pms.
People, not belonging to FSP, can be posted in foreign embassies,there is a quota,reserved for them.
Hussain haqqani former ambassador to USA is a clear example.

I beg your pardon but let me share something which may be helpful. PMS is ranked 1st than IB and NAB. Last time from Punjab many PMS candidates did not join AD I.B when they qualified at a time and preferred PMS. A senior member of the forum may endorse my statement.

As the the post of the ambassador is much exalted position, therefore, it requires professionalism as well as greater political influence. However, you may fulfill your dream serving in Foreign Service as Attaché in any field in embassies abroad. For illustration you can see add. of Trade Attaché in Foreign Missions Abroad.
