My strategy for both the subjects is first to go through all the material in the books and then make notes of the important topics. Im also consulting internet for the preparation.
For US history hippocampus.org is a useful site.

For geography, i'm using book by amir publishers, jahangir sanpal book and jahangir exam cram series by Azmat Farooq.
For US history, i'm consulting majumdar both part 1 and 2 and another book of aamer publishers by Wali-ur-Rehman.
