I used the following books and got selected as office assistant in higher education in my 3rd test.
1) who is who what is what(dogar publications latest version)
2) general knowledge(caarvan publisher)
3) pak affairs/studies mcqs (by M.imtiaz shahid)
4) encyclopedia of general knowledge (by jehangir books latest version, did nt read it but its a gud book)
5)ISLMAIYAT mcqs (by M.Imtiaz shahid+a female author i forgot her name)
do nt read all its content only read concerned topic in who is who and what is what plus caarvan gk bt read whole of the books of ISLMAIYAT and pak study Mcqs.
use internet for updated knowledge

Thankyou dear for the response. Do you have any idea about test date. I mean in how many days are we going to have it? Any idea?.. Secondly have you got any idea about the merit of Zone 4 last year?

Dear nobody can tell about the exact date of any test of a commission, usually it takes 3 to 6 months or may be more than that.Although kppsc has gear up the process since this govt has come in power but still it wil take time from 3 to 4 months or in exceptional case more than that.
Last time was my 1st test of commission and i have nt any knowledge about the commission procedure so i did nt remember exact merit of zone 4.
But since my zone is also zone 4 so i have a general idea about the nature of merit of zone 4.most of the time it landed in between 71 to 80.only once it dropped to 65 for the post of Office assistant in hogher education this year.

hello to All
i have received a letter for ASJ KPPSC test.i am little bit confused about test. its mentioned in letter "Ability test"... whether it would be screening test or its would be final recruitment test...if it would be screening test then kindly tell me about the whole slybus of ASJ... mean there may be any type/types of descriptive papers after the ability test???plz help me in this regards.

The syllabus has been mentioned in your Ability Test Letter if you try to read it

It will b a screening test I guess. After that KPPSC will take comprehensive exams.

bhayya as you are serving in the same deptt so please inform us about JDs of ASJ, package and Duty stations plus is it a Belt job or not??

ASJ is 14 scale officer, starting salary is 23 thousand. job is 24/7. it is a uniform job but tough one, as by rules ASJ will have to live in jail even his home is yard apart Its 24 hours job. promotion is deadly slow.
And yes, i resigned and Assistant collector Revenue now.
