What's your zone and district? We will have to call commission number followed by extension number 1099 where the superintendent will guide us. I called on Friday but the person concerned was busy. Most probably there would be medical and security clearance by Special branch before training.

WaqasAliKhan Saturday, June 04, 2016 03:00 PM

I am from zone 5 ... I have heard that medical is just formality ... a medical certificate from govt hospital ... wht u guys says

I've heard that they will medically examine us at a hospital located near civil secretariat Peshawar. But more or less it would be just a formality because no physical conditions were laid down in the advertisement.

ongratulations to the Recommended Candidates.
Just to give the recommended candidates an idea of the process involved after recommendation.
After posting recommendation on the website, the selected candidates are sent the recommendation letters within two weeks. After that, the KPPSC sent all of yours documents and application form to the department. KPPSC Job stops here. The department upon receiving the file from KPPSC, send the academic documents for verification to the concerned boards and universities. Also the Special Branch in the District to where the candidate belongs is sent a letter for Police Clearance. When documents are verified and police clearance is done, the department asks the candidates to have their Medical from the Police Services Hospital. Once this is done, the Chief Secretary is forwarded the file in case of recruitment for Bps-17 and above , or The Director of the concerned department if it is below BPS-16 to issue appointment letters. This whole process at the very minimum takes 4 months. So have patience.

ASP jails

Can any one tell here the future prospects, salary range and authority of ASP jails? And what about the promotion criteria?

ASP jails

I mean, is it worth joining?

Alexkahn Monday, June 06, 2016 07:30 PM

As you already know it is a BS-16 job so salary will, most probably, be in the range of 25k to 30k. Duty hours are extended and promotion is dead slow. I do not want to discourage or demotivate you but keep your expectations low. It takes around 15 to 20 years for an ASJ to become DSJ.
I had also been called for interview but I skipped it.

Is it upgraded to BS-16? The posts were advertised in BS-14.

No. I don't believe it has been upgraded. It is BS-14. Sorry. It was a mistake.

Tauseef whats your view regarding this post?

beautifulbird88 Tuesday, June 07, 2016 03:25 PM

I mean in terms of charm of the post; many people are of the view it is a post having great authority, albeit, inside prison premises, and the respect that comes as a part and parcel with it.

Indeed it's one of the best job offered by Govt of KPK; answered to a query by Tashfeen Alam, PAS/DMG. Addingly he suggested me that this post is far better than Inspector Investigation of FIA. Same views were divulged by many other people with whom I discussed the issue. I talked to a person from prison department too, he also strongly recommended the job. I have concluded that it's a job worth joining and we should join it as soon as we are offered appointments.

beautifulbird88 Tuesday, June 07, 2016 10:14 PM

Thank you for further clarification. And have you any idea regarding starting salary and perks etc? Moreover, if you can tell me your cell number, it would be of great help in conversing.

ASJ's powers are limited. Even in jail premises, the real authority is wielded by DSJ's and Superintendent. Most of the clerical/file work is done by ASJ's. Inspector FIA or ASI Police even, is a better position in my view. At the time that I was applying for this post, I also talked to an ASJ. He gave me his candid analysis of the work/duties carried out by ASJ, the perks/privileges and its importance in the hierarchy. He told me that if I wish to appear in PMS/CSS or other competitive examination, I ll have very little time at my hands while being an ASJ. Moreover, my brother is also in Prisons department and his opinion dissuaded me from considering this career.

Usual salary of BS-14 is around 26000 but the risk allowance is added here so we can expect a salary between the range of 30000-35000 pkr but if the posts are upgraded to BS-16 then it would be around 40K. Posting cell number in comments is not allowed here by Admin, I'm sharing it in my profile.

I talked to many people about this post, the views were very diverse but at the end I concluded that it's a good job. I don't know why people usually advise to refrain from Inpector FIA if selected. ASI in police is a very good post as an ASI can be promoted up to SSP but the security risks associated with that job make it less attractive. Recent years have seen a notable rise in target killing of ASIs.

beautifulbird88 Wednesday, June 08, 2016 10:43 AM

I would agree with Tauseef on this. The up-gradation of this is afoot and many people told me that it is one of the best jobs available in Public sphere offered by KPK, further, getting a government job is a hard nut to crack. One should be humbled for being conferred upon with this job and look out to tap other opportunities coming along.

Exactly brother... Have you asked when are they going to call us?

beautifulbird88 Wednesday, June 08, 2016 04:03 PM

Tauseef brother, they process will take some months probably and we will get the recommendation letters within a few days, IA. Further, you didn't share cell number on your profile. I had been waiting.

A selected ASJ from the previous batch whose recommendations was done in the end of March would go tomorrow to home Deptt for information regarding the appointments. But one thing is clear that it would take around two to three months to call us on duty. I've given my cell number in my profile, kindly take it from there as moderators would block me if I post it here citing the violation of forum rules.

one of the best jobs???????? day dreaming or so? :roll hahahaha... dear, its grade 14 job with no perks and privileges, no powers and so on.. I had a wish to join DSJ (BS 17) but one ex asj told me not to think about it.. Superintendent is all in all... rest just jail keepers...

There are some plus points as well.. Its a uniform job. Moreover, one can make high profile contacts etc.. but please don't compare it with insp fia, or so... talented candidates like tauseef and others should aim at something much better than this... rest congrats and good luck to all selected candidates.

This is the point I wanted to make but then I thought the selected candidates may perceive it malicious for someone to under-emphasize a job they have been selected for after a lot of hard work and labor.

Actually most of the candidates including me would have applied for this job to enhance their chances with PMS and CSS by securing two years age relaxation. But after discussing with many people about the job I concluded that it's not a bad job and is better than many other in this scale. I mentioned earlier that people had diverse opinion but the majority suggested me to go for it and strive for PMS and CSS. This is why I'm leaving a well paid private sector job for this post.

This opinion was divulged by Tashfeen Alam, a PAS officer that ASJ is far better than Inspector FIA. I would discuss it with people already serving in FIA as inspector and AD of if recommended by Fpsc. I'm not sure Wether FIA would earn me two years age relaxation for CSS or not.

If you are after age relaxation, then surely this job is far better than the one you already have. However, you should be mentally prepared that you will get a limited amount of time for your CSS preparation while serving as an ASJ.
