Sociology paper 2004: Marks=150 time=3hours.

Note: Answer any FIVE Questions.All Questions carry equal marks.

Q1) What is the importance and utility of Sociology for the Socio-economic development of Pakistan? Explain.

Q2) What is the difference between Scientific Sociological Culture and Layman's understanding of culture? Why there are differences in cultures of various societies? Explain

Q3) State the difference between competition and conflict and write a note on Acculturation.

Q4) What are the characteristics of Primary groups? Discuss major functions of any one of the primary groups.

Q5) Discuss the interrelationship of political and religious institution in Pakistani societies with illustrations.

Q6) What in your opinion, is the most alarming social problem of Pakistani society? Suggests measures to deal with this problem.

Q7) Define Social change and discuss major factors promoting socio-cultural changes in your society.

Q8) Write short notes on any three of the following:
a) Community
b) Reference group
c) Culture Relativism
d) Social Stratification
e) Techniques of data collection.
