Laser printer is better than ink one as it uses powder instead of ink so no fear of ink getting dried up , for a css aspirant who needs to print a lot of notes laser printer is best.
I was having a deskjet and still own it. It was a colour printer . It was good till I entered the world of css forum. From where I needed to print alot of notes etc almost on daily basis so the ink was not lasting long and as you know the ink cartridges are very costly so I bought a new hp laser jet p1102w
its toner can be refilled with just 500 rupees and still after printing a lot of pages its starter toner is working and not finished yet. and the best thing about it is it wifi connectivity , now I dont need to plug in cables etc, while sitting on my study table I will throw print job to my printer via my wifi router and if it is connected to a wall socket the printer will turn on automatically and it will start printing.
The only con is that it is a monochrome printer but for color printing I have that old deskjet with me.
Hope that helps

PS The printer I mentioned is little bit costly but worth it . an entry level laser printer from Samsung starts from 5000 PKR and so on with HP and other companies

one page a month? HP deskjet D1360 would do just fine....i have it for four years now..(it wasnt costly , so i've forgotten its price ..2000 / 2200 k aas paas thi shayd) yup the ink cartridge is relatively costly around PKR 1300...but you dont have to buy a new one every time you run out of ink!... i recently discovered that ink (or some solution) can be injected in them for as low as 150 rupees at certain shops..(if you live in isloo, one is there in the basement of Romaisa in F-10 markaz)...in my case original + refilled cartridge comfortably prints around 120-150 pages (no drying up)

if someone wants to use the cheap solution as an alternate to the original catridages they must take care that it doesn't damage their printer

you are very right, In my college days I used to have a canon bubble jet printer and it never printed the way it used to print after I went for the desi refil method so had to get rid of that printer .
So be on your toes while going for such jugaar. On the other hand refilling the toner of laser printer will not damage the printer for sure.
Regards

If there's not much use of printer so try buying HP Laser jet . it doesn't have problem of ink getting dried cause it has powder ink that doesn't dried ..!! desk jet ink dried if you don't use for a while ..!!
