Default Advantages of wired/wireless broadband over 3g/4g services

At this moment 3G/4G service providers in Pakistan are still not ready to provide good internet services because their road to 3G/4G is under construction. But in broadband case like wired/wireless service it has already established its significance and confidence amongst the people of Pakistan. This point gives broadband services an edge over 3G/4G services. Also wired/wireless services covered almost all the destinations of Pakistan. A very important 4G provider in Pakistan which claims to be the first and only 4G providers in Pakistan has the lowest coverage while wireless broadband covers 90% of the population.

A considerable percentage of Pakistani people do not have any kind of internet connectivity on the phones so they will still be able to use broadband packages on their PCs and laptops. Internet usage on a PC/Laptop is still considered to be the ideal way to use internet in Pakistan. Because using internet on PCs is more secure then using internet on cell phones. There must be solutions required in figuring out exactly how much more at risk a person is for using a 4G mobile phone of receiving viruses and tracking cookies through IP-address system. People who play videogames online require a low ping and a fix IP which 3G/4G does not provide.

I am a broadband user and I know the importance of broadband over 3G/4G service. One always gets a consistent internet speed on a wired/wireless broadband connection compare to 3G/4G connection. Moreover It is expected that it will take 4G networks to establish themselves at least 3 years as they have to install an infrastructure all over the country to be fully accessible which wireless broadband is already established all over the country.

My personal experience says that using internet via wired/wireless broadband service is far better than using 3G internet on cell phones. One of many reasons is that Mobile batteries drain four times faster on a 3G/4G enabled devices while you can use broadband on PC without any hassle. Using 3G/4G services reduces the life of a cell phone significantly. 3G/4G also causes even high end smart phones to considerably slow down. Also while using internet on 3G/4G enabled phones, one cannot use the phone to make a call and use the internet at the same time.

Broadband service providers in Pakistan not only give internet but have other services such as TV broadcast telephone line packages etc. which is not available by 3G/4G providers. Broadband connections rarely have disconnection issues whereas 3G/4G connections have disconnection problems all the time. Fixed wireless broadband is ahead in giving seamless and reliable connectivity as opposed to 3G that could be disrupted instantly. I can watch picture perfect HD videos on my wireless/wired broadband then 3G/4G connection. All smart phones have WiFi option in them which gives an edge to wireless broadband services as we can use internet by connecting via WiFi. A single WiFi Broadband connection can run on multiple devices but a 3G/4G connection can only run on a single phone. The phones that are required to run 3G/4G internet can cost from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 100,000 while you can get a wireless broadband device for Rs. 4,000 maximum with better internet speed.

It is commonly observed that Cellular companies in Pakistan are known to provide false information about their packages. These companies deduct more money than they offer in their packages. While the cheapest home broadband packages are generally less costly than the cheapest mobile 3G/4G packages. Also 3G/4G has a data cap, so streaming one movie online will use your monthly package. One hour of HD (1080p) videos can be up to 2 GBs will not only consume your data allowance but drain your cell phone’s battery life as well. According to many people Broadband services are better for video calling and have minimum lag. So keeping these things in mind I would say broadband is still the better choice.

If all this happens, then why the people of the foreign countries(ADVANCED COUNTRIES) have been using this medium for internet? Are the countries and the people are thick headed? ,if not then why are they still using these services????

Well obviously wireless broadband is meant to provide connectivity to fixed end points, eg homes, and mobile internet is meant to provide internet access to devices on the move, eg phones. At home people enjoy internet on their laptops and other devices so broadband provides a faster and reliable connectivity while on the move people just need to fetch some info or data quickly so mobile internet is supposed to make that possible. Both serve different purposes and cannot be compared.
