Oracle E Business Suite and SAP both are top players in the world and close contenders, both have same functionality (almost)
SAP has B ONE for Medium sized business and SAP R3 for large enterprises.
There is no hard and fast rule that a person should be an IT graduate to work in the field of ERP.

There are two paths in ERP field
1. Technical
2. Functional

Technical is purely for IT / Computer graduates with a grip on Programming basics, query writing.

ERP has many different modules,to name a few ;
Finance
HR
Supply Chain
Materials Management
Sales, marketing

So a finance person can go into ERP field, MBA can go into ERP field (MBA is a preferred choice) but IT graduates get into this field without MBA because this is an emerging field (Later they go for MBA).

One university in Karachi has started degree program in ERP. i-e BBA / BS (ERP) and MBA / MS (ERP)
