Page centered image in two columns MS Word

I am writing a paper in ms word 2007. Format of the paper is two columns. I need some help for following two tasks,

1. I have an image say on page 2 of the paper and since I cant adjust this image in one column so I want to set this image on top and center of that page so that after the image (and before the image on previous page) the two column format text again continues.

2. Same situation as case 1 (say on page 4) but this time I want to set the image at the bottom and center of the page so that above the image (and after the image on next page) there is a two column format text.

Please guide me how to do both of these steps. I am stuck at this point of formatting

There is solution to your problem.......

If you want to insert the image to page 3 ,, for example ...
- Go to page 2
- Go to page layout tab
- Choose break and select next page.......
- Now go to page 3 and choose one column formatting,,,,,,
from this section on all pages will be one column so you have to apply the two column page break by choosing page break and next if you need two column on page 4 let s say,,,,,,,,
