Default Fraud by PTCL (Be Careful)
Respected members,

Today I received PTCL landline bill of 7000 PKR.
I have never applied for any landline number at any PTCL office. So this number maybe used by a terrorist and billed to me.
How can I report this fraud of PTCL to concerned watchdog?
Can I claim for any amount of money as against "Damage to Reputation". As I feel damaged mentally and according to Consumer Protection act I am victim of PTCL fraud.

I suggest you people to go to the nearest PTCL office and check for any number registerd in your name?

PTA should display PTCL numbers too through 668 query.

What do you suggest? Any legal opinion will be welcome. it will help me to formulate my strategy.

You might have had a PTCL connection in the past for which you didn't pay the bills. PTCL often wakes up after a very long time . My father received a legal notice along with a bill in 2010 for a number which we used to have in the 90s even though we had it formally disconnected since we changed address haha .

Better go to the PTCL Concerned office & discuss the matter with them......

Well, that’s really annoying. Maybe you had a PTCL internet connection in the past for which you didn’t pay the bills. If you are sure that you never had their internet connection. I would suggest that you should go to their office in your area to discuss the matter. You can also file a legal case on them but I would never suggest that because it's a long and complex process speedput . You should talk to them and fix the problem and to avoid such problems in the future visit this site.

You should visit there. It may be a hacker's activity. They use the connection and then transfer the billing to any other address by requesting to them that they have change the address and thus this could happen. Also you know that Ptcl can provide internet for 3 months without paying bills.
