Dear Ammar,

CFA is an investment analysis qualification, whereas CA is a financial reporting qualification. I have good exposure to both industries and can tell you that a CA would benefit you more in Pakistan. CFAs are hired mainly by the equity research industry (all in Karachi). The number of positions is small and competition is high. If you go for CA, you may be able to get job in audit firms / finance depts of companies anywhere in Pakistan. Moreover, you may pursue CFA charter after completing CA. In Pak, CA has more scope than CFA. Outside Pak, you will face stiff competition from foreign university graduates as well - it will be very challenging to compete with such graduates, though nothing is impossible. I will personally advise you to pursue CA first to test the waters.

The final choice depends on your circumstances. Best of luck!
