Information regarding M.A Private Pu Lahore

Sallam!
I want to know:
Aren't we allowed to do masters in a subject not studied in B.A as an elective in Punjab university...?
I have heard as well as seen the instructions placed on p.u's website , that pu doesn't allow us take a subject for M.A other than that studied as elective..?
Geography and History were my electives, but now i want to do masters in some other subject as a private candidate.. Therefore please throw light on my case and let me know how far true it is . Regards

Farrukh there is no restriction that is indispensable to do masters in that subject which is elective in graduation. I did graduation from UOS with computer science, psychology and arabic as optional subjects but I did masters in political science from PU. Further, my father submitted my admission forms ( M.A english) when I was busy in CE2014. I just want to say, there is no compulsion to do this. Stay happy

Thanks a lot Isha.. i was , in fact, misguided by someone. By the way, one thing more i want to ask whether we can take two year exam par I & II together; composite as we do in graduation..??? Regards

No PU does not offer composite exams.

No, you can't do it from PU. Only UOS allows to take composite exam. Stay blessed.

thank U. Isha i have seen it in your profile that you have done masters in political science. Have you done it regularly from pu or as a private candidate? As you said in the previous post that your father submitted your form for ma while you were preparing for ce, so how did you manage both?
Furthermore, what material and books have you referred to for islamic history and culture?? It is also one of my optionals, and i have a book by K.Ali, viz., ''A Study of Islamic History'' and the other is islamic history by sohail bhatti. Are they enough for sound preparation??

Yeah, I did masters in pol science from PU as a private candidate because I got admission in MSc psychology in UOS but my programe changed and I started M.A pol science. My father submitted forms m.a english but I droped that plan and insh Allah I'll appear in CE 2015 once again. As for as your second query is concerned, I used Mazharul Haq's books for IHC but arabic and IHC disappointed me. Stay happy.

thank U. Actually i was doing M.Sc in pol.science from Quaid e Azam University, but after having studied there for a semester, i had to quit on account of some reasons. Now i am indenting to do it as a private candidate. One thing more, in which division did get in .ma because as far as i know pu usually doesn't give 1st divisions to candidates taking exam as private.

my suggestion is that you should start M.A english instead of m.a pol science. Decision is yours
