CA after Bachelors?
 

Hi, I had completed my BBA (finance) in early 2013 but was not able to land a job. Since then I have been working as a freelancer from home, generally working on research and data analysis. I want to pursue a career as a financial analyst. A friend recommended CA to me. People who have completed CA before or after a graduate degree, can you tell me the process? Are there any exemptions for me? I have looked at ICAP website and there is a Trainee Scheme, should I take that? Would like some advice from CAs in the field.

If you wants to purse your career as financial analyst then CA is a very nice degree, which can serve your purpose very well.
My brother is in final module therefore i have little knowledge about CA. ICAP is currently passing through an evolution. They are introducing standard books, proper course outline, questions bank and converting initial four modules into three levels. On clearing each level you will get a certificate.
CA has its own charm but it is extremely difficult. If you don't have any financial responsibility or problem and you are consistent and persistent then go for it but keep in mind, you may have to suffer some serious blow from ICAP... just keep moving and don't get tired.

Bro if u want to have career in finance and become financial analyst then CFA is the ultimate choice. CA is related to accounting , auditing and tax mainly. Though one can be a financial analyst having CA background after years of experience but this is not his job to do.CA is altogether different thsn CFA.
CFA IS US PROGRAM. Costly and relatively tough . U can visit cfainstitute.com for further guidance.
But 1st think yourself what u want to pursue as a career . Check CA course and CFA course and select the right one as u having bba so it will be easy to differentiate between accounts and finance courses.

It's better to start ACCA than CA................. ACCA also give 6 or 7 exemptions so just 5 or 6 paper and u become almost CA............. give 1 paper of ICAEW after ACCA and u become world renowned CA.............

Surely a better approach but u have to trade off ..as u know ACCA having difficulty to get articles of top firms.

Thanks. I already looked at CFA as well, a friend recommended CA that's why I was asking. I was initially looking to pursue MS Finance because I know it can give me in depth knowledge of Finance. I understand that there are no specialized degree being offered in Pakistan on Finance. Most universities are offering MS Management with Finance specialization. The only problem I am facing with CFA is the fact that I am not hired in the financial sector and I would need around 4 years of experience to get the charter. Currently I only do freelancing on research and data analysis. I did pursue financial firms when I graduated but unfortunately was not able to find a job not even an internship.

I might just pursue a MS Finance and go from there.

Should I go for ACCA or CA?
