Masters in English Literature is not an easy task. But it is not an uphill task too. It's good to know that you want to study the complete syllabi and books which many a students doesn't want to do so.
The simple strategy is that pick a Paper from the syllabi e.g., Novel, Drama, Prose or Modern Poetry etc.. Check which particular writers are mentioned in the syllabus. Say, 'Hamlet' by W. Shakespeare in the drama paper. Next is, buy Critical Study book on 'Hamlet' published by New Kitab Mahal (NKM) or Famous Publishers. You'll find each and every aspect in the book. Read the summary, characters and about the writer etc. See the past papers and prepare Questions from the aspects as are mentioned in the past papers. Keep following this strategy for other books and papers.
Enjoy the study of English Literature!

Well Dear, i suggest you, if you have a good command over english then you can easily cope English as a private canidate,so go for it besides its better to take any regular course instead doing it as a private canidate.
what matters is, only your determination and adherence to your goals :))
God Bless You!!!
