Exclamation LLB Uni Of London, HELP REQUIRED (NEW HERE)

Dear All CSS Forum Members,

I am Usman Ali Awan from Lahore, I have completed O Levels recently and plan to go for Diploma in Law UoL leading to LLB UoL Programme. My question is, most of my friends are doing the same LLB course after A Levels, but if I do it after O Levels i.e 10 Years of education, won't the ''Years Of Education'' be 13? What I mean is after completing LLB UoL degree, will it recognized here as a whole? I mean I will be going without 'A Levels'. So help me here, there must be a difference between someone who enrolls after A levels and someone like me who enrolls after O Levels, right?
Secondly, if I do Uni of London LLB programme, Will it help me if I plan to stay here? As in what is better? Punjab board LLB or UoL LLB? What prepares you better if one wants to stay in Pakistan, Because I plan to do LLM after LLB(Can I do LLM after LLB?) and then CSS hopefully, so respected members, please help me here. I cannot finalize my decison, I hope you can explain everything.

Regards,
Usman Ali Awan

1- There is a leverage for those with O-Levels background to enrol themselves for the LLB External .. It takes the same amount of time, 3 years, but they do it through 'Diploma' route .. For example, they'll be admitted to the 'Diploma in law' in the first year and upon completion they will do the remaining 2 years as normal LLB degree .. There is nothing different between those with A-Levels and O-Levels other than this Diploma route .. The first year is the same for all, same subjects, same class and same books and material .. Only that those with O-Levels will be handed a 'Diploma in Law' after the first year, which will make them eligible to start the 2nd year of LLB along with regular students .. And that to me is wrong .. But I think if you have this leverage, you should avail it and save some years on you .. Because the local LLB demands at least B.A or any other Bachelors Degree before you enrol for the LLB .. Means, at least further 4 years on your education before you finally get into the LLB ..

2- Yes, if you do LLB Honours from UOL after O-Levels it will be recognized here .. It shouldn't be, but it is recognized ..

3- The LLB from UOL will not be directly helpful if you plan to stay in Pakistan .. That is because you'll still need to study the local law as you start practice as a lawyer here .. That can be done by studying statutes and short code books which have a blend of Major and Minor Acts .. But the UOL degree will be immensely helpful for your grooming .. It is a very challenging degree and you'll be required to work your skins out to pass it .. Students who are not habitual of studying daily and those who procrastinate usually and mostly flunk the UOL LLB .. On the other hand the LLB from PU can be done with only a week's worth of preparation ..

4- But when you've done the UOL LLB you'll be much more confident when you start practice in Pakistan than those with LLB from PU .. That is because you'll have got yourself habitual with drafting and researching skills within these 3 years of education .. Studying longer texts and drafting them during practice will not be an issue for you then ..

5- And yes, you can do LLM after LLB either from PU or UOL ..

So ponder over it and make a wise decision, whatever suits your best interest ..

Regards ..

Thank You for such accurate information, much appreciated.
However, I don't want to practice Law, I just wanna do this UoL LLB course so I can work a good post at Pakistan Customs like my father.
And this may be not related to thread, but I also have option to go to Australia and study for undergrad, I am not sure whether I should stay here or go abroad, at the end of the day I have to work in Pakistan so I don't think abroad is the right choice if ONE wants to work in Pakistan.
I have no idea what I am talking about, anyone is free to suggestions though.
Secondly, the LLB UoL consists of UK Law right? How does that help me because I dont want to practice Law in UK.
I'd really appreciate some suggestions and all. I am so confused.
