BEIJING: the capital of China formely known as Peking.
Paris: the capital of France's former name was Lutetia ( a tribe of Celtic people called Parisic founded the city and gave it the name Lutetia around the middle of the 3rd century BC. Seoul: When it was the capital of the entire Korea under Japenese rule during 1910-45, it was known as Keijo. Vienna: the capital of Austria was called Vindobona. Yangons, the capital of Burma now Myanmar was Yangon. Tokyo: once for a shortwhile when it became the capital of Japan in 1868, it was Edo, renamed Tokyo the same year. Chennai: India's fifth largest city- Madras. Faisalabad: one of the Pakistans industrial cities, was formerly known as Lyalpur. Ankaras: the capital of Turkey was called Angora.
