Firstly, rectify your question. She did not deposit Rs.250 in the box on her birthday in one of instance instead she kept on depositing Rs.250 in the box on each birthday thereafter.

Reword it as follows otherwise your existing questions gives an impression that she deposited Rs.250 on only single instance:

"She started depositing/kept on depositing/used to deposit Rs.250 in the box on each birthday"

After above correction, answer of suhaibqaisar will be correct i.e. her date of birth is 29th February.

Illustration:

She started depositing Rs.250 on each birthday from the age of 20 and her DOB is 29th Feb. Hence she will celebrate only 10 birthdates till the age of 60(till her death) due to leap year issue.

So total amount deposited on 10 celebrations = 10 x 250 = 2,500

Whereas her sister continued to withdraw Rs.50 in each year regardless of her sister’s birthday celebrations. Hence her cunning sister enjoyed 40 years of withdrawal = 40 x 50 = 2,000

Amount deposited - Amount Withdrawn = Amount Left in the Box
2,500 - 2,000 = Rs.500.

Last correction: At the time of death (60 Yrs of age) she was not a "Girl" rather a "Woman/Lady" .

To gain attention and keep an impression so that we feel genius while solving such questions even if we are not.

In practical life, one technique to get issues resolved is to tease or challenge someone so that s/he strive hard to prove her/his worth.
