25-year-old scientist from Quetta took part in discovery of gravitational waves

Meet Imran Khan from Quetta.His father Havaldar Ajab Gul served in Pak army for 23 years in 39-Punjab Regt and retired on 1993.Imran did FSc Pre-Engineering from FG Degree college quetta cantt(2005 – 2007)and Bachelor of Science(Telecom Engineering)from FAST-NUCES Peshawar Campus (2007 –2011) with me.His FYP was on topic "Brain Computer Interface based Text Communication" for severely disabled person(People locked in syndrome).He write research paper on his FYP and took part in project competition at Comsats Abbotabad (EMCOT 2013) and won the 2nd prize.

After graduation he got job in Nayatal,Islamabad as Operation Engineer(FTTX / GPON, OSP)(April 2012 – June 2013).Then He got admission at Koç Üniversitesi, istanbul,Turkey and completed his MS in (Optoelectronics and Photonics Engineering, Photonics) (Sep 2013 – Sep 2015) apart from MS in turkey he also served as research assistant with Prof. Dr. Ali Serpengüzel, Director Microphotonics Research Laboratory Koç University,Department of Physic.
Current status:Imran is Early Stage Researcher at INFN(Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics) and PhD Astroparticle Physics at GSSI (Gran Sasso Science Institute) and co-author for the great work:the direct discovery of 'Gravitational Waves'.He is among the 1000 scientists in the LIGO-VIRGO collaboration.
