Default Why is Pakistan Backward?i think i found an answer

This question has been asked and answered for almost 68 years. You may have heared the statistics i.e low GDP,budget deficit, unemployment etc or you may mention the dismal position of political parties, our military elite, but in reality non of these are the reasons behind the condition of our country, believe me.
if you didnot believe it directly,i will argue my opinion.
Pakistan is Backward due to some very basic flaws. All the following points have nothing to do wealth or resources.
1)lying
2)uncleanliness
3)educated class
4)joint family system
5)free advice
7)undue interference in everything

1-Lying

Lying has become a norm in our country.Everyone lie.we teach our childern to lie.Every businessman lie,Every student lie,Every Official lie,and we should not speak of politicians. Now you would worry that how are we backward due to lying.
suppose a foreign visitor comes to Pakistan. He will interact with different people,i.e taxi drivers, shopkeepers, hotel waiters and restuarant staff,All Pakistanis by heart.Taxi driver will lie about fare becuase when we (pakistanis) want to take taxi,we first bargain fare with professional liers, the taxi driver will tell the foreigner an unreasonable fare.same is the case with shopkeepers and hotel owners.
we tell our childern that lying is forbidden in islam. Then we buy pocket size guides for our childern to copy in exam. All of our nation is involved in electricity theft and income tax theft. Both come in catogary of lying.A Haji sahb will justify both electricity and income tax theft;Look SON! we should not pay bills to the infidel government,if it was an islamic state,we would be obliged to pay but theft from infidel government does not come in thievery or gunaah, and income tax....Lolsss...
I was buying cloth in Peshawer. It was my First visit.i came to a shop and selected a piece.i enquired the price, shopkeeper said, two thousand.i put my hand in wallet and came up with two thousand ruppes. i paid the sum and came out of shop.i had walked only a few steps from shop then suddenly shopkeeper came and called.when i get to him,He told me that you look novice in peshawer.i said yes.then he took out one thousand ruppes note and give it back to me.i said, why? He said you are not familiar with tactics used here in peshawer,we peshawery shopkeepers tell a big price but customers here are used to it so we bargain.we settle our dealings with bargaining.you look a visitor so you should be careful here in peshawer.
he was a really kind person, but he was also following the prevalent norm of lying. We are so stubborn that No one is ashamed of lying. Not only peshawer but whole of our society is immersed in brutal lies.

2)Uncleanliness
Interestingly,No country, state or person can complain that we lie because we are poor, same is true for cleanliness.cleanliness does not need wealth.
Now just look outside your house, what do you expect to see?(this question is not applicable to those who live in Bahria Town)
To keep our environment clean is a big thing, which might take centuries to understand but

i got lil bit angry while writing this piece so i am leaving it right here.An educated man came in my mind whose savagery ruined may lives,so i am loosing grip on keyboard

so lets continue to our futile attempts to bring some change...

If you are a middle class person,go to nearby tea shop and order a cup of tea.Now look at the dress of cook, they look like they have not took bath since Eid.Most of the them do not wash hands after toilet.same is case for cooks preparing meals.
Except for few big cities, our public bus stands have a distinct smell of urine.our people piss wherever they like.you cannot buy anything from bus stands becuase their rates are higher and the quality is low.Once i bought a cigrette pack from bus stand.it turned out to be contaband and i have to suffer throat infection. All the contraband goods from coldrinks to biscuits are sold on bus stands.
the worst situation arises when you need to feceate,i canot describe the condition of public toilets.it would be rather unethical to mention the slang poetry and images inscribed on toilet walls.
Pakistan International Airlines should be proud for their cleanliness..lols..Third class food, rude crew, and cheapest wine, these are the qualities which lure pessengers to travel on PIA.

3)Humiliation.

suppose for a moment that every person respect every other individual, nullifying language, region, religion, wealth or ethnicity.the result would be a crime free society.when a man gets his due respect from peers and he know that his life is worthy,He will become a productive member of society.
Our society has clear standards for respect.Wealth,of course money determins wether a person should be reverend or not.The brand of your shirt determins your place in your society. It is a norm is our society to enslave and humiliate the destitute.
The ultimate end of wealth, fame and even CSS is RESPECT.
Now,if everyone give respect to others, the illegal means to achieve wealth would end.And amazingly, giving respect does not cost anything.

4)Educated Class
Unfortunately our educated class is responsible for our many problems. The arrogance of educated class lead us to pits where there is no ethics. If you do not believe just check their behavior with Girls in college and university campuses.Harrasment of girls has become an accepted norm in our society.
The educated class could be a role model for young generation. In a country, where sole aim of education is to get employed, education becomes nothing but a corrupt business.
our educational insitutions are more intersted in politics than education.Drug dealers operate freely in hostels.
Child abuse/rape is common in religious seminaries.the students of religious seminaries live life of slaves. They are at the mercy of clerics. If someone tries to point out flaws in system of religious seminaries. He is outrightly declared as infidel.
It is common in villages to send madrassah student to beg bread door-to-door.what would be the life of a man whose childhood was ruined by keeping him away all the activities that are necessary for healthy childhood?

5)Joint Family System
there were times when large families were necessary for safety and security. Now in this modern world, joint families are hindering the progress of single talented person. In joint family system, one cannot take an independent decision and if someone dare to do so,some chacha or mamma will appear with all his witty ideas, ruining the intiative.
Decisions of marriage are made in infancy, ruining life both girl and boy

I would comment on two of your points. Although, they are entirely valid, still, i want to throw in a few pointers. 1: Humiliation: You said that our society is overly materialistic. Since, you are discussing the reasons for backwardness of our country, I would like to point out that same condition prevails in countries like America and other "capitalistic" countries. However, these capitalistic countries are not considered backward by most of the people. BUT, they are different from us in that there is strict application of law. Self-respect of a person not wearing a branded shirt in USA is ensured. This is because of their legal system. If someone of higher class dares to humiliate them, they would throw a lawsuit of thousands and make them pay. In Pakistan, real problem lies in the fact that a person wearing a branded shirt expects the person not wearing a branded shirt to be fearful and awed by him, and rightly so, since we have no legal recourse for any grievance a rich person might cause to us.

2: Joint family system:
As far as extended family is concerned, its a big "NO". Extended family, in around 80% of cases, would NEVER want to see you growing. They would prefer to see you as inferior to their own children and thus would make every effort to block your path . However, its not to say that everyone in extended family is like that. There are some well-wishers as well. However, its better to not involve them in your matters and if they try to get involved in your matters, just give them a cold shoulder. Believe me, your parents love you more than they would ever love your chacha mama. So, after initial resistance they would come to accept YOUR decision and not your chacha mama decision. I am saying this out of experience. Lastly, I am not in favor of NOT taking care of your parents. I don't support the proposition that parents should not be the part of your family. I am sure you didn't mean to include them in joint-family system, but still thought it was better to seek clarification.

Ok fawad,i always welcome disagreements. If we take a glance over history of anyone of sciences,it will become clear that ''disagreements'' lead to progress.

Now your first point is that materialism exists in developed countries while they still respect each other, not considering the wealth-status.
We have a VIP culture.we have peers, mullahs and hereditary maliks and jagirdars. The situation in Urban areas is quite hopeful but the unfortunate 70 percent of our slaves-cum-people live in rural areas. The problem does not lay in seeking wealth but consideration of human rights.I have seen with my own eyes that ''mureeds'' kissing the tyres of peer sahb vehicles;paying respect to toyota corrolla.
My point is that even our educated class do not stand against the VIP culture and thoes who do,pay cost with their career

http://www.dawn.com/news/1135289

the brave person arjumand hussain, stood against VIP culture. He thrown out rehman malik from airplane.now he has lost his job

Even dogs and donkeys have rights in developed countries but here we are, still counting the number infant deaths in Thar desert.

And i must say that if you stood by your decision is joint family system then you are a fortuante exception.

The problem with parents is that they only think of parent-rights but never think that childern also have rights.Even religions like islam and christianity focuses on childern rights.unfortunately we have no legislation about child rights. Many parents openly humiliate their minors as per their desires.

Yes, i agree with your followup replies. VIP culture, indeed, is root of many evils. Its also unfortunate that in this day and age parents still have not been able to recognize the rights of the children. Anyways, I am looking forward to the explanation of the remaining points. By the way, is "Page from fools diary" thread that you created based on your own experiences?
