Shaheen of Iqbal (my Pakistan)

I’m shaheen of iqbal. I want to fly in open air. I want to see the free world. I want to feel the freedom. But what is this! Why i’m unable to fly? Today i’m out of my cave, my feathers are strong too even then why i am unable to fly????

Ah! Alas! I never listen to my absolution. He always said,

” us rizq se hai mout achi
jis rizq se ati hai parwaz mein kotahi ”

O the men, see, today i have feathers , I have strength too but i am a slave. Yes, i’m a slave of satanic powers in aspect to gain my subsistence. A freedomful flight is far ahead i even can’t move a step forward without the orders of those.

But nooo! I have to obey iqbal now. I have to fly.

Ah! Alas! I am searching my freedom in slavery. I am consedring the cave of democracy, a free environment. He always said,

” yeh tehzeeb apnay khanjar se aap hi khud’kushi karay gi
jo shakh-e-nazuk pe aashiana bnay ga na-paidar ho ga ”

And see, I am constructing my home in that facetious dilemma.


Ah! Alas! I myself become a traitor of my own religion. My beloved iqbal said to make Quran your system. And you know how i reply to this? I say no. Islam is only a religion, our system should be socialism.

Ah! Alas! I become slave of myself. I make the materialistic objects,my lord. He always said,

” khudi ko kar buland itna kay har taqdeer se pehlay
khuda banday se khud poochay bta teri raza kia hai”

But very fortunately i prefer to be insulted for roti, kapda and makan.
But noo! I have to obey iqbal now. I have to fly.

Ah! Alas! I fall in love with national idolism. He always said,

” aik houn muslim hram ki pasbani kay liay”

But i said no. I am punjabi, You are balochi. I am sindhi, You are pathan. I am afghan, You are iranian. I am an arab, You are non-arab.
But noo! I have to obey iqbal now. I have to fly.

Freedom is required. I want freedom. But how? Another freedom movement is required. And this time not against englishmen but against our own sensual. We have to do a jihad against sensuality. And remember only this jihad can take shaheen of iqbal toward its destiny.

O my fellows! come ahead. Kill your selfishness. Do take part in this jihad so that shaheen of iqbal (pakistan) become able to reach the ultimate heights of sky.
