Default Starting from scratch

Hello! I'm a final year medical student. Css and the knowledge that csp officers carry fascinates me alot. I think even if you are not appearing for css everyone must have that kind of thought process and general knowledge. I want to start my preparation from scratch . As much as I have searched I have realized that just 6 months preparation is not enough to pass this competitive exam as building vocabulary, writing skills, general knowledge and commitment in your behavior takes time. I just need suggestion that if I want to appear 2021 exam that would be after 1 and half year, (starting from scratch, as I don't even read newspaper) how should I start my preparation. Thank you
