hello saima...first of all All the best for your attempt...subject selection is totally depends upon your interest and your education background...the following link will help you with the syllabus and subjects go through all the subjects in which you are interested and than see the past papers this will help you alot in deciding what to chose or what not..when you have chosen some subjects than you can discuss those subjects here on the forum with the members and we all share regarding our experiences...and thoughts..this will definitely help you Insha Allah....

CSS 2011 are in progress...you can make your attempt in 2012...the admissions will be announced in December Insha Allah....till than you can start preparing for the CSS....

Start improving your english...gather knowledge about Current Affairs and Pakistan Affairs...this will help you for Essay paper aswell...with this start with your optionals too...

make your habit to read Dawn regularly....and analyse how things are written in the newspaper with that note down the words with their meanings with which you are unfamiliar and start using those words in your sentences and try to make all of your posts here in CSS forum in English..if you wont know the english words which you wanted to write...see Urdu to English dictionary...and read International or Editorial pages from Dawn..not irrelevant sections as this will help you for Current Affairs and Essay too...
