Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I'm Umer Khayam from hyderabad currently doing ACCA (Professionals) and I am doing bcom privately as well. I just have been thinking in past days to go for CSS attempt once i am done with Bcom. I've past background of Olevels business group and I wish to go for Accounting, Business, Economics and Law for my optionals.

You cannot opt for accounting, business administration and economics. They fall in same group.

What do you mean ? What's limit on choosing subjects from same group?

Subjects carrying not more than 200 marks can be opted.
Note: Business Administration cannot be opted in combination with Public Administration

I never said anything about Public Administration, I said i plan to take Accounting,Economics,Business Administration and one from Law, Would that be possible?

Accounting is of 200 marks

You have skipped "Subjects carrying not more than 200 marks can be opted."

Accounting, economics and business administration totally make 500 marks.

Accounting for 200,Economics for 200,Business law for 100 and Mercantile/International law for 100, That's 600. Can't i take these subjects? Plus one of Mercantile and International law.

Accounting and economics both fall in same group. So you can only select one of them.

And there is no subject as Business law in css

No, you can't. You can choose one subject of 100 marks or 2 subjects of 100 marks or one subject of 200 marks. Thats what they mean by saying "Subjects carrying not more than 200 marks can be opted".

From Group A, you can choose only Business administration or Accounting or Economics.
