Friday Prayer

Friday Prayer

Volume 2, Book 13, Number 63: Narrated Sahl:

We used to offer the Jumua prayer with the Prophet and then take the afternoon nap.

Volume 2, Book 13, Number 60: Narrated Sahl bin Sad:

There was a woman amongst us who had a farm and she used to sow Silq (a kind of vegetable) on the edges of streams in her farm. On Fridays she used to pull out the Silq from its roots and put the roots in a utensil. Then she would put a handful of powdered barley over it and cook it. The roots of the Silq were a substitute for meat. After finishing the Jumua prayer we used to greet her and she would give us that food which we would eat with our hands, and because of that meal, we used to look forward to Friday.

Volume 2, Book 13, Number 61: Narrated Sahl:

As above with the addition: We never had an afternoon nap nor meals except after offering the Jumua prayer.

Saeed Bin Abdul Aziz quotes from Rabia bin Yazid and he quotes from Ali Idrees Al-Khaulani, who quotes from Hadrat Abu Zar (may Allah be pleased with him) who relates that the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said,

"Allah admonishes you: O my servants, I have charged Myself to wrong no one and have forbidden it between you. So wrong not anyone; O My servants, all of you are not on the correct path except those whom I may guide; O My servants, all of you are hungry save those whom I should feed, then supplicate Me for food, I shall feed you; O My servants, all of you are unclothed save those whom I should clothe, then supplicate Me for clothes; I shall clothe you. O My servants, you misbehave night and day and I forgive all your sins; then supplicate Me for forgiveness; I shall forgive you. O My servants you can have no power to do Me harm, nor can you have power to confer any benefit upon Me. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the whole lot of you, high and low, were to become like the one who has the most righteous soul among you, that would not add a whit to my Kingdom: O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the whole lot of you, high and low, were to become like the one who has the most vicious soul among you, that would not detract a whit from my Kingdom. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the whole lot of you, high and low, were to assemble in one large plain and were to beg Me for whatever they desire and I were to bestow upon each of you all that he had asked for, that would not detract me from my treasures any more than a needle could diminish from the ocean, by touching its surface by its point. O My servants, I understand your actions and shall make a full repayment for the same to you. Then he who gets good reward should praise Allah for it; and he who recieves something else should blame only himself.' (Hadith Qudsi)

O Allah,
I supplicate you to grant me your Love
And the Love of those who Love you
And the action that would lead me to win your Love
and make my love for you more dear to me
than myself, my family, and cold refreshing water.

--------------------------

Abu Huraira reported. My friend (the Holy Prophet, may peace be upon him) has instructed me to do three things: three fasts during every month, two rak'ahs of the forenoon prayer, and observing Witr prayer before going to bed.

Allah's Messenger (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wasallam) said, "There are six good qualities which one believer should display to another: he should visit him when he is ill, be present when he dies, accept his invitation when he gives one, salute him when he meets him, say 'Allah have mercy on you' when he sneezes, and act sincerely towards him whether he is absent or present."

Ka'b bin 'Uzrah (Razi Allah Ta'lah Anhu) said : We asked the Messenger of Allah and enquired: O Prophet of Allah! How shall be the blessings invoked on you, the people of the House? Because Allah has taught us how we shall greet you. He said: Say: O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you had blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily you are the Praised, the Glorious. O Allah, bestow favours on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as you had bestowed favours on Abraham and on the family of Abraham."

Narrated by Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila (Razi Allah Ta'lah Anhu); Sahih Bukhari and Muslim transmitted it. Hadith No. 919 of Mishkat al-Masabih.

Good behaviour:

Hadrat Abu Darda, may Allah be pleased with him, relates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Nothing is heavier in the scales of a believer on the Day of Judgement than his good behaviour. Allah detests a person who is obscene and shameless”. (Tirmidhi)

Allah, the Exalted, says for Good Conduct:

"And verily, you (O Muhammad (PBUH)) are on an exalted (standard of) character.'' (68:4)

"The Jannah is prepared for those)... who repress anger, and who pardon men.'' (3:134)

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was the best of all the people in behaviour.
