[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]The fastival of Shab-e-Barat is celebrated with Pomp and enthusiasm by Muslims all over the world.The great month of Shaban is the eighth month of the lunar year in the Islamic calendar and the month immediately proceeding the month of Ramadan.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]THe fifteenth night of this month is known as Layaltul Baraah or Laylatun Nisfe min Shabaan in the Arab world. In Pakistan it is known as Shab-e-barat. [/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]The month of Shabaan is the great month.In this month Allah takes the account of His creation.Becouse this month occurs between two other important months,viz Rajab & Ramadan.The Prophet(PBUH) loved ton fast during this month.He used to fast most of the month of Shaban.After sunset during the night of Middle of Shabaan Allah in His great Mercy and Kindness turns towards His creation and asks "Is there anyone who would seek my forgiveness and I forgive him/her ? is there anyone who is in need to ask Me and I provide for his/her needs? Is there anyone who in pain and seek My help and I help him/her? Is there? Is there? Until the time of Fajar"[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]The Prophet(PBUH) is said to have recommended Prayers during this night and fasting during the following day. Prophet(PBUH) used to visit the Muslims cemetery on this eveing ang He used to Pray for the deceased Muslims.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]Skies lightup on the night of Shab-e-Barat as the festival is celebrated in the night.Houses and streets are also illuminated by candles and strands of electric bulbs to provide a joyful ambiance to the festival.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=#008080]However there are many practices and customs common in some Muislim countries, such as making a sweet dish, dowing Firwork(atish baazi) etc. [/COLOR][COLOR=#008080]These things have no meaning and no reference in Ahadith. [/COLOR][COLOR=#008080]May Almighty Allah grant us more blessings in this sacred month and help us (Ameen)[/COLOR][/SIZE]

For example some people belive that the spirits (arwah) of the deceased visit their relatives during this night some believ that there is a special Tree in the Heaven upon whose leaves are the names of all human beings,and whatever leaves drop during this night,those people are destined to die in this year.[/COLOR][/SIZE]
