Default women in islam

can anybody clear me that is it not in sharia (islamic law) that husband is bound to provide food and other necessities of life to his wife?he is only responsible for his childern?

He is bound to provide food and other necessities of life to his wife and children.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 34:


Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because Allah has given the one more than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard (their chastity, their husband's honor, property, etc.)

one more question .if husband wants his wife to do job . although she is not willing to do so.but as in islam women has to obey his husband .then what should a women do ? what islam says about it

if husband is not beating his wife but he says such type of things which realy hurts her . i mean to say that a women is not physicllay tortured but mentally tortured then what islam says about this.
