Dear All,

This is the real story...

The class (masters evening) was going on, professor was delivering lecture in University of Engineering and Technology, teacher gave example about his student, which came to him for advise. Teacher explained the scenario as i am mentioning it below.

" One my student come to me, and seek advise that i want to do masters, what should selected, i told him that, you have cleared you B.E and you don't know what to do.." - He insulted him as his nature..

second time the same student came and asked the teacher sir i am going to complete my masters, what should i take in research, the teacher insulted him in new way..

"come tomorrow and also bring the hammer with yourself, so you may hit it in your head, you are going to complete masters and you don't know what should be your priority.?"


the story ends because i don't want to go in details of a story script but i want too list all my feelings and one question i want to ask from you.

1. Do you think that i am taking this story as wrong and i should consider my feelings hurt on that example.



My Feelings:

* I felt it as wrong behavior of teacher as the responsibility of teacher as a chairman of department is to guide and mentor the students.

* The insulting behavior is not good even if you are superior in knowledge, by race or by status.

* The teaching in Islam is very respectable profession, teachers now a days are found as cheater instead of a teacher.




If anybody thinks that it is just normal thing and author (me) is giving it new color and presenting it in different way.

You may oppose me but give me true comment not joke, as i think teacher may use the same summary but he must had chosen different words to mentor or advise his student..

I have no experience of writing, also suggest me to improve my writing style.

I read you post twice and after a deliberation I am writing my response.

A teacher should be kind,Courteous and accessible. But not all teachers are like that. Don't expect so much from your teachers. They are part of the society in which we are living. They are reflection of the society too.

Life is so cruel. Don't be upset with these kind of small things.
Next time choose a better teacher to discuss your educational endeavors.

You are not mature enough for this level. Its all about frame of minds. Present your research proposal to a foreign qualified doctorate degree holder, explain him tangible milestones and most importantly research CONTRIBUTION (novel results). You will get positive outcomes.

Dear,
I read your story, and one thing i conclude that, it's usual. I believe that the relation of teachers and students is like the relation between the Parents and their child. For our Parents we sometimes assume that, they are offensive, do not think about our wises and desire, but it's not like that, usually in their offence they think better for us.
As for as my own experience teachers, despite the fact that they live in our society, they always give your better advice for your career or personal life.
It's a rare case, if things like that are happened with you, Just ignore it, and excel yourself forward.

According to snmsjeelani, he is doing masters from UET. Can you believe that he should sound like a novice at this level? He must be 23 or 24 (at least) so will you consider him as s teenage school going child? He is an adult. If he has this sort of childish attitude then he must be dealt like that.
Put yourself into his shoes, can you do the same with Dr. Shabib ul Hasan or Dr. Khalid Iraqi (your department’s professors)? Will they take you seriously? I hope Ive explained everything.
