I learn to respect others point of view (even if they are against my point of view), which is missing in most of the people now a days.

By jealousy you mean academic rivalry or something else?

All I learned, I learned from books (Sorry lincoln, I'm not stealing merely borrowing).
The sad fact is that it wasn't in my college/University life.Mainly, because I never "really" went to college. But I digress..

I learned from academic books too. But those are not the things that I hold dear to my heart.

What I've learned is that during the times of worst adversity, humor will be your saving grace and it will take you far. There's nothing that you can't joke about and just laugh it off. :D
It'll help you make friends too. You can laugh with others, but the most important thing is to laugh on yourself

There are other things too, but you asked only one thing :(

P.S: Unless you wanted to ask about study methods, in that case really sorry :)

Not agreed, Student life especially university life is more precious to be sincere for eternal friendship. Student life is blossom of life.

If you don't quit, fate would be much better than you had initially placed it.

Consistency and hard work make anything possible. It's a simple formula to success and there are (often) no short cuts.

Well we all know this but we don't really seem to believe it: hoarding your knowledge, misguiding people when they ask you for information and trying to hide your notes etcetra doesn't help. In my experience when you teach someone/discuss something with someone your retention of information and understanding increases.
Besides in islam, we are not supposed to misguide when someone ask for advice.
People however are sometimes so petty that it surprises me.
