Time to make changes in FPSC and PPSC

AoA,

I often think about the weird recruitment policy of FPSC and PPSC especially for BS 17 and above. In the ad, they demand Masters, M.phills etc but neither their test has anything to do with the particular post nor it includes the field of discipline of candidates except 5-10 questions. Even a middle pass can cram all that G. K and get the job. It's same like our orthodox education system where we strictly adhere our students to cram the syllabus and pass the exam. By dint of it, what happens is that noncompetitive individuals get the job because they are good at cramming and those who are brilliant and have strong analytical skills fail to make it through. How can such people make the good decision for the welfare of the public in general and country particular when they are shorn of sound analytical abilities, reasoning and critical thinking? How can they test the competitiveness and intelligence of candidates with merely 100 MCQ's ? Is it a G. K quiz competition or a recruitment test for a government job ? The government has made a very good move by changing the syllabus and adding some more contemporary subjects in CSS. But, it should also make changes in provincial and federal service commission as well. There should be a descriptive and analytical test and G. K should only be given a small portion of it.

Comments needed.

Regards.

Yes! You are right. But, unfortunately, where there is a doctor working as AC (PAS) and an engineer is in Foreign Service then what do you expect from that system?

Well, the competition should be fair. Prevailing recruitment criteria is very poor. I cannot understand how could the Planning Commission remain blind to such weird testing process. A descriptive test should be there and MCQ's test can be taken for only preliminary selection.

Truly endorse you. Additionally, there should be a certain limit for doctors to compete in CSS as a huge chunk of money is being invested on them by the government and it all goes into the abyss of disappear when they left their profession and become civil servants.

In this regard, FPSC has made certain recommendations i.e., grouping of occupational groups w.r.t education. This is really a good recommendation. In this way, aspirants could apply and compete w.r.t their education for the relevant occupational group. This will surely recruit the best man for the right post.

I wish and pray may Allah make this happen. Ameen.

Good luck. :)

Stay blessed.
