Default What is the difference between Annual system and Semester system of examination?

I have heard that semester system is not heavy on mind and brain while annual system of examination hits very hard on brain. Moreover, Under annual system, the life of a lot of students is ruined by getting Third division. On the other hand , there is almost no chance of getting third division in Semester system. Is it true.
