the story or logic(rather sort of a fiction) behind my nick is:

Almaas means Diamond.
like every other women, diamond is my favorite too. but for me it is more important than its worth.
a few years back i was going through a very tense and complicated part of my life. one night (being nocturnal) round about 4 or 4:15 i wore a diamond don't know why. the other day, i felt something good from within, don't know what was that.
"doobtay ko tinkay ka sahaara" such wave of happiness made me feel that it might be due to the stone i m wearing.. after a few days, went to a person who does the hissaaab kitaab of stones and stars......
he told me that my stone is diamond and i must be wearing it to have all my difficulties solved. from that day on, i started believing that stones do play an important role in our lives, though i never had believed in such myths.

so
A= ALLEEGORICAL: its importance in my life
L=LUMINOUS:love its shine and resplendent existence
M:MYSTICAL:why i wore it for a purpose i dont know
A:AFFINITY:of mine with diamond
A:ALLEGIANCE:it's pure and so its allegiance to purity
S:SUPPLENESS:its ability to smoothly bend me without breaking me.


and the ruby part, well being an admirer of gems used the word ruby, no any specific reason behind it.

Its my name, just a skip of word 'U' from Qayyum.

Few years back, one of my very close friend opened his account on Yahoo with the nick qayym (His name is also Qayyum). Than he gifted that ID to me and the same is still in my possession.

Thereafter, when ever i open an account on any site, i used the same name. No logic.

People have got to know me by this name.. Although 'badnaam jo hon gae to kia naam na ho ga?' But resently I have experienced some drawbacks..

A number of my uni fellows and hostel fellows happen to be forum members. I wanted to hear watercooler talks n corridor talks about forum, while being annonymousn but almost all of them know me. No one even asks me I am always told..

So I am thinking about a new user name and am shortly to place a request for it.

I was probably impressed by a poster of Al Pacino from the movie Godfather, He is seen sitting on a couch in a very viceregal manner, I liked that; another reason probably would be that I like victorian interiors and I saw some pictures of Viceroy Lord Wavell's office maybe those pictures had an imprint on my mind when the Management wanted me to change my name and I had to say something
