Just read in the newspaper about the latest incident of violence in the Punjab University campus. This time the vicitms were the students and teachers of Mass Communication Dep. and attackers were the same who have besiged the campus for last 50 years and are self-declared custodian of Islam. Does Islam allow Violance and torture for the enforcment of its teaching ?

Islam promotes peace and understanding, prohibits violence and aggression against anyone and no faction or party can declare themselves as custodians of Islam. Every Muslims represent the religion Islam and no one has the right to impose forcibly one's views on others.

Why don't we prove Islam a good religion by our actions instead of teaching it by violence. There was a Mandir near our school, our teacher said that it is established before independence and none of the Hindu accepted religion Islam due to our un-Islamic actions i.e. falsehood, hypocrisy, adultery, intolerance etc.

Those who resort to violence for teaching Islamic values, are actually defaming it. Did you read anywhere that in the time of Holy Prophet PBUH that shops were closed forcibly to offer the prayer? When the wine was prohibited in Islam, everyone voluntarily left it. If we are true Muslims we don't need any authority to observe Islamic way of life. Otherwise through violence and force we can compel people to act accordingly but can't win their hearts.

Muhammad bin Qasim ruled on the hearts of the inhabitants of Sind. When he was mistreated by Muslim Caliph and left Sind in deplorable condition, the Hindus were worshiping his images just because of the reason that he provided justice to the aggrieved population according to the principles of Islam and liberated them from oppressive rule of Dahir.

These Taliban of Punjab University are creating haterd for themselves and through their behaviour are supporting the idea that Islam was spread through the sword.
One of their prominant leader has established a chain of colleges in Punjab but he never allow them (IJT) to work in his Group of Colleges. If they are so good and necessary for the welfare of the students, why they are not allowed to work in the colleges of their Ex-Nazim. ?
