Police Clash with Students in Bahawalpur

You ppl must have read the news and seen the videos of the incident in question. This is second henious collision between the police and students in the recent months. Reportedly, students protested agaisnt the loadshedding (or some say against the increase in fee) and sorrounded the Principal's house and office and called the Principal to come out of his office and discuss. When Principal did not come out, they started disturbance causing damages to govt+public properteis. The Principal called Police. DPO Bahawalpur commanding the police force reached the spot upon which, the students enraged and hurled stones to the Police causing DPO's arm injured. Police reacted, captured number of students etc.
The Principal's point of view is that some students are facing short-attendance and their addmission has been stopped. The students are misrepresenting the facts and showed a concocted story just to harrass the college authorities.
Whatever the facts are, the point to think is that where we are going.
The students has cause damaged amounting to Millions. You could see the picture in newspapers that students are throwing the furnitures from the upper portion of the building whereas police is standing aside waiting for the orders. What sort of attitude of the students is? They, without realizing the manners, came out to sorround their prinsipal/teachers.
Before this, an henious incident occurred in The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. A students slapped on the face of IT chairman. The matter got worse and the University remaiend closed for more than month. Millions of damage they cause is another story. This is what we learn from education?
I want to draw your attention on the prevailing attitude of ourselves.
Take the lawyers for examples, for a tiny matter, they come out of Court, protest unnecessarily harming the applicants, even beat the Honourable Judges.
Take the traders, shopkeepers, common men, transporters etc. etc. when they have any problem, they launth protest and damage the govt+public property.
Take the Doctors, their way of protest results in number of deaths of the innocent patients. etc etc etc etc etc.
Why our attitude/behaviour and reaction is so violent? Would it not be true to say that we are rigthly being called "a terrorist nation"??? Where is our education, ethics????Person belonging to every field of life is violent in pakistan. We are mirroring a true picture of terrorist/extremist. What should we expect from the illiterate ppl???

There are several ways to control the crazy mob, like tear gas, shelling of rubber bullets, aerial firing, pouring pressure water etc. If the mob is going to harm the life and property then baton charging and bullets in feet is also an option with police for maintenance of law and order. There are instruments which are used as safeguards for police force while tackling with riots. But our police is still inefficient and lacks resources to couple with such situations. Anyhow, police performs duty heroically when case is related to poor or weak people. :clap

Pakistani society has become extremist, therefore, these types of incidents have now become a matter of the day..our Education system lacks the teachings of Ethics, etiquette and courtesy...:sad..that is really an alarming situation...journalists,doctors,students,lawyers used to create a mess in order to redress their demands...one of the major reasons of this violent behaviour is that pessimism which our media is inducing in our society slowly but systematically:vangry.....nobody can amend the situation unless we change our existing mindset and behave like the members of a civilized society.

Yes! These students, laywers, doctors, teachers, businessmen etc. are suppose to ameliorate the society, but what they are doing is right opposite - solidifying the prevailing perception that we are extremists. It is right that the institutions are not communicating what they ought to do. Collegs, universities etc, have now become the venue of pleasure and immoral entertainment. The real aim has been lost somewhere in mobile phones. Well, THE HONOURABLE CHEIF JUSTICE SAHIB OF PAKISTAN has summoned the DPO, Bahawalpur. Now same cheap behaviour will be seen in the news. Cheif will reprimand him, recommend the authorities for his suspension etc etc.
Chief Minister Sahib, Khadim-e-Nalan, who has a remarkable style of running punjab govt (holding grip on 8 commissioners and 01 IGP Punjab and through them he controls the whole punjab) transfer the DPO to improve his vote bank and these disappointing incidents will continue to happen........ bla bla bla :vangry:oo

Our Police and its powers

In Pakistan, the department of Police is only a puppet before the politicians and bureaucracy etc. Whenever Police wants to perform its duty legally, our MNAs and MPAs and others, force it to go against the realities. Which police officer does not obey them, is transfered to some other place and the desired Police officer is posted or appointed there in place of that transfered officer.

Why our politicians use to do this kind of works? Only for their own benefits. All these things are creating problems.police has its legal power only but its not allowed to use these powers.

In all other countries, the Police departments are facilitate and always honored for their good works but here, In Pakistan, we only criticize this department. no one admires the police, why we do all this to only the Police. Is there not any responsibility of the people. there is a need to change our so called politics and bad thinking to solve these prolems.......

Right! Black Sheeps are found in every department. Every department uses police for their ulterior motives keeping themselves behind the scene and police on the front line, and dont let the Police do its job independently. Everytime when CM visited the city, he suspended police officers/officials just to make happy the mob. Bad luck to police that it only works as a tool and cannot protest being a disicpline force. What if the IGP to lowers subordinates start protesting at once relieving themselves from the duties there are posted? It was former IGP Punjab Zia-ul-Hassan Khan who responded well to the present CJ of Pakistan in his court for his rebukes, and was transferred. you cant evaluate the performance of police unless it is freed from the political/judicial/fuedal clouts..

Police Inability

Well that is what i have been emphasizing since so long, i totally agree with the above mentioned comments...
You know what people! even to get his legal seniority a sub inspector pays 80 thousand or some thing near it, to office superintendent of IG Office just to get his name in his due seniority list, now how can we label him of corruption when he is supposed to get his due seniority via writs in court?
By Police Order 2002 we just brought them under further manipulative control of seniors who just sit back and relax while SHO on the for-front collects monthly for them.... and by the end of the day He is victim of wrath of CM etc... you want to end this? look at the reasons first...( i pledge to PSPS here not to continue the on going system)
A Junior officer is under total command of MNA and MPA on the behest of their own PSPS, he does nothing except what they want.. We hate them for that? If we do we have to change the system.. because one man among them cant. Except of a strong background...
My question is how many of us raising (?) on them know what they go through?

Yes! It is right. IGP Office is considered hot-bed of corruption. Officials have to pay thounsands/lacs there to get their even legal benefits, what to say of illegal. Seniority, promotion, ACRs, transfer/posting etc. all things require "Lakshami" to be done. IGP has taken stern notice and transferred many corrupt Assistant Directors/Office Superintents from his office, yet there are rotten eggs i know by names. surprisingly, they dont fear and change their practice.
Constable to IGP are influenced by the different authorities. So while disposing of any case/matter, they obtain money from either party thinking "chalo mein to apna kharcha nikalun jo subha say falan falan ko tea pilai, falan falan ko apnay cell say calls kin, falan ko photo copies din etc etc." This is the current snario which requires sincere and serious attention of responsible authorities to take immediate measures to cope with it. If junior official doesnt pay to his immediate senior, he is blackmailed by a written report against him. So where should we start frm? And let me tell you that here in this net cafe, there is a person sitting at my right cabin, and he is official of some media channel. He is talking to someone on fone on this issue (police clash with QMC Student. He is saying " han bata kis kay haq mein bhejun report, doctor kay haq mein, principal kay haq mein ya police kay haq mein" :oo
