Dear friends I am sharing with you a serious problem that has caused me immense trouble in my studies and I want serious attention from your side please.

I am living in a commercial area DHA Karachi. Finding it relatively peaceful I got a separate room here 2 months back but to my dismay the place proved to be such a noisy that I was hardly able to concentrate on my studies. Thinking that I would adjust to the environment someday prevented me from seeking other alternatives, but It never happened. Left with no option and thinking that css is an exam of nerves, as some say, I stuck to books barely paying attention to what i was reading. As Arthur Schopenhauer said Noise is a torture to all intellectual minds I tried to find refuge somewhere in the library but I found later that in a City like Karachi one is not safe even inside libraries. Helpless soul has now turned to The forum for help and I am sure you people would help me.

If you are claiming that even libraries are not safe enough to avoid noise, then the best thing you could do is to adopt to the situation. You have no options left.

Or you can spend some money and get your room sound proof. You might prefer to move to some relative's place in rural area. Lets see what others suggest.

brother just go for a room in some non commercial area or in particular a place where your room is less exposed to traffic etc
best to be a paying guest if you have that sufficient finances at your disposal

and if nothing works out and u have to stay at your present location just put some cotton etc in your earz before studying..lolz

You can find some place in some hostel in lesser commercial area. Try to find hostels which are specifically made for professionals not students as you can find peace there.

I would have gone for an other place, hostel etc but i did not find any in DHA and living in any other area is not without risks. Shifting now is out of question because of the scarcity of time, a month left in the exam. the only alternative i have now is to study at night from 8 to 8 in the morning. what would you suggest, wont it affect my memory and health.

yea i Iam plaaning , tomorrow i will do that. I joinned a library here in my neibhorhood but it was a bad experience. I visisted DHA in the evening but they did not let me inside saying that only members are allowed, I got membership form tomorow i l submit. how is its environment.
