A tale of two wives..

By Yasir Pirzada.

Dear! Something has terribly gone wrong with my husband!"

"Oh...what do you mean? Is he sick?"

"No, not sick, but he seems to be older than his age."

"Ahan...that's strange because mine is getting younger with every passing day!"

"We will discuss your hubby later, first, mine."

"Ok, fair enough...but tell me what is wrong with him? Has he been fired from his job?"

"No...rather he has been given a raise recently."

"Good...so probably he is not giving you enough money for shopping, right?"

"Ummmm...well...not really...because he takes care of my shopping quite efficiently."

"Then he must be having an affair...isn't it the case?"

"I am not sure about it ...!"

"Give me a break sweetie...what are you talking about then?"

"I don't know myself...the only thing I know is that my husband is not giving me that attention which he used to give me earlier."

"Thanks...at least now you have clarified what the problem actually is...but how can you say that he is ignoring you?"

"Because he is no more romantic with me, he doesn't praise my beauty anymore, he doesn't look at me with the passion which he used to have for me, he doesn't tease me like a lover...what else should I tell you?"

"Wait a minute...how many years have passed since your marriage?"

"Fifteen and a half years to be precise."

"Ok...so honey after fifteen and a half years of married life...you have produced four children and gained at least 35 kgs, am I right?"

"Has this anything to do with the problem which I am discussing with you? I thought you are my friend and you will give me some sane advice but on the other hand you have started taunting me like my saas!"

"No my dear...don't take it that way...these are the facts which we need to face..."

"To hell with these facts...if I have gained weight then my husband is also no more the same college boy...!"

"Here you are...that's what I am trying to tell you that both of you have changed since then...forget about those honeymoon days when you used to walk hand in hand with your hubby on Murree Mall Road."

"I don't expect that romance now...I am not that stupid."

"Then what do you expect from him? He is taking care of all your needs, looking after the children, doing his job diligently, giving you quality time...what else do you require?"

"Is this enough?"

"Well, frankly I think it's more than enough."

"No...something is missing...all this seems to be a duty for him...the passion is not there...yes the passion is missing...!"

"Look my friend...even if he is taking care of the family like a dutiful husband, I sincerely believe that you should not be complaining about it. He is paying attention to you out of the time available to him now, whereas you are comparing his passion when he used to be carefree from all family compulsions."

"Well...are you sure...?"

"I am hundred per cent sure that nothing has gone wrong with him...in fact he is quite a sincere and devoted husband, a specie which is rare these days so take good care of him."

"May be you are right...all this seems to be quite logical...anyways...now tell me about your husband...you seem to be quite satisfied?"

"Thank God...I am very lucky in that respect...he takes care of me still like a new bride...!"

"Wow...that's unbelievable."

"Yes, it is, but it is true."

"By the way I have heard that your husband has hired a gorgeous secretary lately in his office?"

"Ummm...well I don't know whether she is gorgeous or not but my husband was telling me that she is a really talented and well deserved girl selected purely on merit."

"Hmmm...ok, tell me one thing...did he tell you about the secretary before you even asked or he revealed that information only after you inquired about her?"

"Well...he told me when I asked him but in any case what difference does it make?"

"There is lot of difference my dear...whenever your man talks openly about a woman, don't bother about it...but when he reluctantly speaks about a woman, rest assure that there is some fishy business going on!"

"Oh yes...I never thought about it that way!"

"You must give it a thought now otherwise he won't take care of you like a new bride."

"You are absolutely right...thank you so much...you are indeed a sincere friend"

"No need to say thanks honey, the pleasure is all mine." :shy

Ah! and there goes the trust. All this negativity and pessimism resulted in the mistrust. That is actually the story of our everyday life :D

As some one said;
If you trust some one, trust him till the end.In the end either you will get a good person or a good lesson:))
Marital life is based upon trust but blind trust often results into a situation as mentioned above so suspicion is good:dd

I don't think one should suspect someone whom they trust. If you suspect them then you don't trust them in the first place.
