speaking before mirror
 

A.A i want to improve my speaking english skill so that i can give answer of interview panel inproper way .some people suggest to speak in front of mirror but i do not know about this srategy to improve speaking. plz guide me thanx

Miss Tooba,
its working or not i really dont know, but one thing i must say read and write as much as u can, Because it will improve ur english and make ur mind creative, Just make a habit of writing, write different things in your own words, iam also very weak in english, but now iam improving, doing these practice, So i would suggest you that read and write as much as u can, or watch movies with subtitiles, listen songs with lyrics.
if any other question is raising in your mind so please ask.......

Speak english with someone who knows proper english. I have not yet learned from anyone that speaking in front of the mirror can improve communication skills however I have seen people practicing presentations (often in uni, offices) themselves before presenting to teachers and/or concerned people, so maybe from there people took this Idea but I seriously don't think this can help (I can be wrong though)

Stand in front of mirror and try to keep an eye contact with your own eyes and start speaking on some issue, like Water issue, electricity, energy crisis or Pak USA relations and try to generate ideas how to tackle the issues etc.. Dont feel shame while standing in front of it or thinking that what wrong you are going to do.. . You will feel difference in some days, you may practice 15-20 minutes in one go.. And while speaking on issues try to see your body language/vibes and facial expressions like worriness in eyes, trouble in speech, breathing or so.. simultaneously after mirror practicing try to discuss various issues with your family members, friends and fellows and try to develop convincing/negotiation powers... InshALLAH, with practice you will not only be able to improve your expressions but also you will develop confidence in you...

I think speaking before mirror is beneficial if i converse to anybody .i do not feel hesitation while conversing in english and i can easily convey what i want to say hence i need practice as practice makes a perfect lakin bat wohi he k kis sy english boli jaiy. m at home so sometime strived to call any one to practise english but other person is not free for one hour or more.i have tried to see movies but i do not know about good movies which can be used for this purpose . so plz suggest good movies name and song for improving english. if in lahore any set of cd,s is available let me know.
