Why its difficult to wait?

ASA !

Whenever I look around, people can't wait for anything, in bus stops, on NADRA officer or in banks. They try to break the queue and get their task done. Now see the CSS 2010 candidates are anxiously waiting for result and they are really suffering and they will till the announcement of result. I just want to ask a question why its difficult to wait whereas in entertainment we spend hours of hours but waiting : really difficult? Why ?

I also wonder why does it happens ? when u are waiting for anything time does not pass at all but when you are busy with some work/entertainment then time passes very quickly.....isn't it a EDS question !

You discuss a unique problem of society that is now become a part of our life.
Every one for save his time and money want to waste the time and money of other people. and it is a unique social problem. But we can't compare Result waiting Students with Banks and Bus stops. It is really a different nature and I think they should wait eagerly because it is their Right.:))

there is difference between waiting for a bus or in banks and waiting for result.students anxiously wait for the results because they want to see the outcome of their hard work.if they failed why? if they are low in merit list which caused this? whereas i don't feel that other tasks like entertainment is result of their hard work so people can wait for it for hours.for other tasks they just want to fulfill it as soon as possible to save time.:)
but is it not surprising that we people anxiously wait to see result of our hard work in exam but we don't even care let alone wait for result of our actions in hereafter???:0

It is a behavior towards things, which show self centric approach , thinking that other people are less important then he is. An ill organized behavior which shows selfishness, even not knowing with what is next for to do...:D It happened while we wait in a queue, waiting for bus, or things like that.
But in case of CSS or any exam we generally become impatience because, we want to move towards our next task. so we can figure out lope holes, mischiefs and how to rectify it an how to improve it become.
In general we already know what to do next, a plane in mind, through result we want to measure our self, our capabilities , a well defined attitude make us impatiens.;)

Why do you think people say "Patience is a virtue" ? Some people lack it though, I am one of them :)

That is something related to human Psychology. While waiting we actually are looking at the time span, or the period we have to pass to reach to something, so while looking on that and thinking about it, passing a single minute becomes like climbing a mountain.
As a solution, i thought to enjoy it, i.e. waiting. So, i thought that everyone is in hurry and everyone passes waiting time difficultly but i will enjoy this time, as I love to do unique things..!! :P I stopped thinking about the destiny or end point, and started observing things or present and thus i enjoy things while waiting :)

Different people have diferent reasons behind their actions.

There are a lot of people 'who can't wait for anything',

simultaneously, there are a lot of people like u also 'who ask, why its difficult to wait'?

I beg to differ, Even If you are told that the "Result" or whatever you are waiting for will be declared after 1 hour, even then waiting is difficult. In fact, the far, the better. As the time closes, the waiting gets on your nerves :)

1 Hour Waiting = 100 normal hours (If not more)

SideNote : There are people who are really patient and can play the game of nerves i.e the waiting doesn't get on their nerves, an example from this forum would be Hamza_salick. When the result was about to be declared and members of the forum were posting impatiently asking others to help in letting their result known to them, Hamza made a statement which surprised me by saying "I'll wait when it's uploaded on the web and aram say dekhonga, koi jaldi nahi mujhay" lol .. So yeah, some people are gifted with a virtue of patience while some are not (like me)
