I have heard that people do it even in one year... How is that possible then when it took you two years with 8 hours a day??

To con Holy Quran in a year is not a good idea. You can do it but then it will be difficult for you to retain it. Therefore, I would advise you to con few aayats or a Rukoo on daily basis and make it your habit. Plus continue profane education or your routine business with it.

The most important thing is make your actions according to the directions of Holy Quran. Because good and bad things can not live together. I had memorized it in one and half year in 2001 but then I could not retain it due to profane education and impropoer memorization. I have now started giving almost 2 hours to it on daily basis plus I am doing a job and preparation for css 2012. InshAllah, next year, I will be leading a traveeh.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran "To jitna ho sakay Quran parh lia karo" and also "Quraan ko thehar thehar kar parho". Here thehar kar parha means with proper "Tajwid or Talafuz".

If you follow above things, you will see its benefit in your life.

Yes. It took me 1.5 years. When I completed I was 13 years old. We used to practice for around 7 hours daily in the masjid, in three sittings. morning, afternoon, and evening.
