Yes the thing you have pointed out is thought-provoking but you know we people do nothing on our own or we do not follow our culture. What we are doing is following suit Hindi and British culture. One interesting thing i want to add that the fact is we lack true patriotism. On this forum, for example, is there anybody who putting his self-respect aside truly wants to serve his/her country rather than achieving his/her own personal mean? No, there is none. Everyone including you and me, is desperate to qualify this CSS for nothing else but for our loaves and fish.Hum ko sirf yehi lagi rehti hai k konse group men ziada perks and privileges hain? Salary kitni hai? B18 men promotion kitne time ke baad hota hai? Kiya hum ne kabhi awam ki khidmat karne ke barey men socha hai. NO Kabhi NAHI!! Yahi haqiqat hai which can not be ignored. Hum modernize aur advance ho rahe hain.

Lightbulb Another 14th of August.

14th August, the day of independence, deliverance and freedom. But wait!! what sort of freedom it was?? Did our ancestors sacrificed all their beloved things for this day?? The only day in whole year when we realize that yes we are pakistani and it's our independence day. . .!! Where's Iqbal's dream?? Jinnah's vision?? When we will come to about our real identity?? What will be our future?? Need your worthy views. Regards

we will come to about our real indentity when we will work for Pakistan not for ourselves. Well, democracy is flourishing and there is no scope for any one man rule so our future is bright but hard work is required not for our politicians but each and every segment of our country. Independence Day Special
Hope

The idea of independence is well grounded in the desire of humans to live their lives according in their full spirit and capacities without any subjugation, oppression or curb on their basic fundamental rights and freedoms. For centuries humans have fought wars and battles for the acquisition of this relatively utopian notion; an aspiration for freedom and independence. Several races and nations down the various epochs of history have annihilated themselves for it. Multitude has achieved it for periods that were subsequently disrupted by the arrival of new conquerors and victors. Yet for many reasons it has remained a dynamic and booming phenomena that has taken strides along with the progress of human society.

Pakistan got its independence on papers from the larger context of subcontinent on 14th August 1947. Six and a half decades have passed since and Pakistan is celebrating its 65th birthday today. During these eventful years we have witnessed wars, gruesome episode of partition, violent uprisings, general anarchy, brutal dictators, shaky democracies, enlightened moderation and intolerance together. Our history is a narrative of an aberrant nation. The anecdotes of roller coaster ride where the tract had more downward slopes and less upward flights. The complexity of the story can be best described as this. We saw years with restraints on fundamental rights and freedoms. We observed intolerance towards minorities, heard stories of women prosecuted and oppressed under the name of traditions. Albeit that we have lived under the reign of the first popularly elected women Prime Minister in the Muslim world.

We have witnessed politics played on religion and ethnic cards we have seen violent bouts of sectarianism. Yet we have gazed upon Baloch and Punjabi brethren in hands in workplaces and neighborhoods. On many an occasions we have observed the amiability of Sindhi and Pashtoons and Sariaki and Mahajar shoulder to shoulder with Pakhtoons and Punjabi. We all have our examples such pluralistic and tolerant behaviors.

We can not ignore that we have seen floods and earthquakes and Tsunamis and draughts. Antipathy of relevant authorities, sluggishness from elected members of the people. Yet we witnessed people from all walks of life pouring all there savings, salaries, and donating their own provisions for the aid of their fellow Pakistanis in all these natural catastrophes.

We may be included time and time again by Western research institutes into the list of failed states and among the leading breeding ground for terrorism. Yet we have anecdotes of Arfa Kareem, Abdus Salam, Eidhi, Mehdi Hassan, Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, Ameen Gul jee, Amanat Ali khan, and the likes of boom boom afridi who sixes have captivated the international crowds for years. We had the proud legacy of Rawalpindi express, whose deliveries were lethal to the greatest of the games such as Sachin Tendulkar from our noisy neighbors. Sohail abbas another stalwart sportsman whose penalties strokes loses missed its aim. The epic stories of Janshair Khan on the field of international squash courts are well known to all and sundry. The deadly combination of WW (Waqar & Waseem) even with backstage belligerence transformed that contention into a combo against the contenders. Imran khan world cup wining legacy seems like a recent past to everyone.

Nonetheless the western partisanship and our own sins of the past may have resulted in positioning us as the most dangerous places on earth. But we have entertained European tourists in the past decades we have shown them the hospitality of our beautiful Khyber. We have shown them the valleys of Kailash and Gilgat. We have amused the senses of mountaineers with the mightiness of K2 and given their eyes bliss with the breathtaking landscapes of Kaghan and Naran. Furthermore, we have a blessing of a wonderful tally of international caliber faculties from the Ivy League universities elated as much as MIT and Harvard. We have good thing you see.

We are not just terrorists and extremists; we are poets, philosophers, writers, singers, theologicians, sportsman, actors, musicians, judges, lawyers, doctors, soldiers and pedagogues. We have democracy no matter how much tainted, corrupt and maligned. Yet it has the ability to progress and improve. Yes, it is immature and it’s in fledgling stage, yet we have open and free media. Our people are getting aware, no doubt in a random direction. The use of technology in rural areas has enhanced. Solar power is becoming widely accepted substitute of traditional forms of energy. We have a beautiful diversity from chai wala Pathan bhai in Karachi, Karchi biryani center in Peshawar to Kashmiri chai in Lahore, we have a beautiful diversity and ordinary man loves peaceful coexistence among themselves barring politics.

Moreover, we have security forces that have chosen wrong paths and used coercive force in the wrong places on many occasion. Our army has made numerous wrong decisions along all these years. Yet they are the only custodians of our borders. They have suffered casualties and deaths on various fronts they have lost almost one battalion troops in war against terrorism. So it’s not just suppressing the civilians and stepping beyond their jurisdiction interfering in civilian matters.

Without any contention we have a lot of weaknesses and follies. But we must also looks on the brighter side. Because where there are troubles and issues there are solutions and hope. Long live my brethren. Long live my motherland.

I've written this piece on this particular occasion of Independence day. I wanted to make something optimistic and worthy. Suggestions and feedback from all members would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks

Correction: I've written this for tomorrow actually. So that's why its in present tense for that specific day.

Great Work 'Revival' .. Appreciable !!

Rome wasn't built in a day. It requires years , infact, centuries for any country to plunge out of the darkness.
The countries that dominated the entire world didnt acquire the status overnight.
The countries went through different phases (The phase that we are in now)
It will take time for us to catch pace with the already developed world. The process is under way. Though slow but gradual.
And its signs are deeply manifested in our young generations' approach towards education.
This education and awareness is bringing us together , which is the beginning.

how can Pakistan rogress? jab tak hamare mulk ke nau jawan Indian culture ko apnatey rahay gay kia ap ko lagta hai k Pakistan kabhi tarraqqi kar paye ga?

Pakistan ek islami mulk hai aur aman ka mulk hai lakin is mulk ke log ye bhol gay hain ke wo ek azad mulk mein zaroor rahty hain lakin is ka apna bhi ek culture hai.

independence ke bad kuch arsa tak logon mein ye jazba tha ke wo pakistani hain aur apne mulk se piar chalakta bhi tha lakin aj ke zamane mein kahan hai wo jazba wo piar aur wo sachi lagan ke jiss se lagay ke HAN HUM PAKISTANI HAIN lakin aisa nahi hai, her koi bijli ke barhti qimton, loadshading, qatlo gharat, chori chakari aur dakaey mein laga hua hai aur ye nahi sochta ke jiss mulk mein rahtey hain usi ko badnam kar rahay hain, puri duniyan aj Pakistan ko is lihaz se janti hai k Pakistan ek Dehshat gard mulk hai, akhir ye sub kioun aur kis waja se ho raha hai? ye sochne ki bat hai aur is bat ka hal nikalna bohot zaroori hai kio ke hamare hukmuran to is bat mein shayad koi dilchaspi na lete hon lakin ek Pakistani hone ki hasiyat se hamara farz hai logon ko samjhana

Think about it....
