I wonder on the stupidy of PTA(Pakistan Telecommunication Authority),

"The prime minister ordered the blockage of YouTube after the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and other relevant agencies recommended that the government as well as the Supreme Court should completely block YouTube for a few days to prevent access from Pakistan of the latest anti-Islam film available on the internet."


=> The Blunder they have made is that we can still access the youtube by the HTTP version !! That is ( https://www.youtube.com )

This is not a blunder by PTCL or PTA, this is just a limitation of Technology. You can open youtube through many ways despite of its blockage over country's gateway.

Instead of discouraging your professionals, please let us know the IPs from where this youtube is operational. To do this, please follow the below given steps and please paste the results over here. It'll be blocked very soon. Teams are already working over it. No need to worry about.


1) open youtube the way you are opening (https).
2) open your PC's cmd.
3) type "nslookup youtube.com" (ENTER)
4) Paste the list of IPs displayed as a result of this command.

As sson as you share these information, youtube will be blocked.

before this PTA blocked many porn sites which was good step,but that blockage was not so strictly as of youtube today.because one could open porn site by using proxy servers or hiding IPs...but in youtube case no proxy is working resulting full ban of youtube in
country.Stil blockage of links is under process.

Remember onething, this is not PTA who blocks the websites, this is actually PTCL which do this. PTA just regulates the Telecom affairs in the country and directs PTCL to do this. Blockage of porn site (5000 porn sites) was also carried out by PTCL (not by PTA). For porn sites, PTA had not requested PTCL. This was a good step by PTCL on its own.

For reopening the porn sites, Let me make you clear, that Pakistan have two gateway possessed by two different companies, The PTCL and Transworld. Porn sites were blocked by PTCL on its own (no direction from PTA), so Transworld kept it open.

ISPs like Wateen, Wi-Tribe, COMSATS, Nayatel and cellular networks (Mobilink, Ufone, Zong, Telenor & Warid) have their uplinks through both of these PTCL and Transworld. So, when PTCL blocked porn site in its network, these ISPs (Wateen, Wi-Tribe, Comsats, Nayatel and others) oppened these sites through Tranworld (country's gateway).

As PTCL had kept these sites blocked on its MMBB, EVO and other downlinks, so it has to loose a huge number of customers. A lot of customers disconnected their PTCL DSL connection and were shifted to other ISPs.

So PTCL had to reopen these porn sites.

PTCL team is working over opening of www.youtube.com through HTTPS protocol.

Please follow my above request and paste the details here. This will help us to block the youtube fully.

Note: It's impossible to block all porn sites, as they very huge in number.

Blocking YouTube in the first place was a blunder by the PTA.

the letter S in the former keeps any site accessible in for later if and only if bot the regular as well as the secure medium of accessing websites is not siege.
